Amazing traditional Japanese restaurant. Back in Japan in Schaumburg. I found this place before coming to Schaumburg and mentioned to Hubby that this is a must-dine place while we're here. We made it happen. It's very traditional and most clientele are Japanese, so we know we hit the jackpot. The restaurant is quite big, there's a sushi bar, first dining area, private dining in small individual rooms where you need to remove your shoes, and another dining passed that small rooms. There's a waterfall too, so you won't miss the sound of the waterfall. I think our waitress for the night was Migu, very sweet and very happy! We ordered fried squid and edamame and soup to start. Oh wow, the spicy mayo for the squid was to die for. I hardly eat spicy mayo but this one was so tempting that I couldn't say no. We both loved it! Then I had sashimi and Hubby had a bento box. Another wow right there! The pieces of my sashimi were pretty big. Hubby's bento box was another dish I would recommend for those who don't want raw. The box came with chicken teriyaki, sushi, tempura, salad and side vegetable and a bowl of rice. Yes, complete! Highly recommended traditional Japanese restaurant. Loved it! Arigato!

Nice lively decor. But slow service and disappointing menu. So, as a sushi snob, I was dismayed by the choices. Dozens of rolls, but most included tempura, âcrab mixâ (which I hate) and tuna mix (donât care to even know what that might be). Very pedestrian. I ordered my own roll which was very good, but only because I left out the fake sushi. Pot stickers were barely warm and mediocre. Our friendâs tandoori chicken wrap was average. The chicken lettuce wraps made the GF sick the next day. So many better places...

If you love sushi, you should definitely visit our restaurant. You'll surely enjoy our classically prepared sushi and unique maki creations. Our bar serves a wide range of Japanese beer, sake, cocktails, wines, and martinis.
Bistro Wasabi has two locations (Hoffman Estates and Lake In The Hills), and I've enjoyed them both for several years. Last night was the HE location. The bar is fun and cool and well-stocked. The unique bar stools are comfortable which may come as a surprise. Definitely different. Sat down for dinner with some edamame and hot (I know, blasphemy!) sake. With a Kirin to boot. The sushi glfeature for the day was the "Black Widow" roll. Outstanding! Also enjoyed a scallop roll and a spicy California roll. Fresh, and masterfully prepared and presented. One can watch the chefs work as they do their magic. What fun!Finished with some green tea ice cream, dusted in powdered sugar and drizzled with chocolate. Great stuff. The woman I was with was suitably impressed. I was too.

I have been on the search for a true Ramen house that can accommodate vegetarians. Itâs not all that easy. Well, I found the holy grail in Kitakata Ramen. In addition to all of the traditional Ramen offerings, they very clearly make it well known and marked that they offer a vegetarian Ramen. Thee broth was off the charts tasty on its own. The veggies and noodles all fresh. Sip after sip, slurp after slurp, bite after bite it was delicious. They are so aware and accommodating that when I asked for a marinated egg as an accompaniment, they told it is it seasoned with the traditional pork broth. Thank you!!! Any time I am in the area I will make my way there.
