French-American Bistro, serving Classic Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner daily from 7am - 10pm...Sunday Brunch, from 11am - 3pm, with Live Jazz.
My wife and I dined at the Hemingway Bistro for our wedding anniversary. We almost always dine at the Hemingway Bistro when weâre visiting Oak Park.Food: superb! We were there on a Tuesday night and my wife enjoyed the lobster special. My dish was jumbo shrimp wrapped in bacon. Both dishes were scrumptious. The cuisine is primarily French themed.Service: courteous and professional. We felt welcomed and at ease while dining. The staff was attentive to the clearing the table, refilling our beverages, and checking in on us when appropriate.Decor: romantic dining; excellent choice for a special occasion. However, formal attire (jackets / cocktail dresses are not needed). The general attire is business casual.Price: expensive, but worth every penny for this delightful restaurant. Dinner for two with two appetizers, two main, one dessert, four drinks, and tip was a bit under $200.Overall: I would highly recommend the Hemingway Bistro if youâre in Oak Park and looking for fine dining!

Despite the freezing temperature, we ventured out to Chez Joel for lunch on the opening day of Restaurant Week. It was well worth it.We went with the special lunch menu for Restaurant Week, choosing the French onion soup to start, the risotto and the mussels for the main courses and the profiteroles for dessert. Hot bread and butter came with the meal. The soup was very good and not overly salty as French Onion often is. The hot bread had a crispy crust which was a perfect addition to the soup once we'd finished the crouton in it. The risotto was a very generous portion for lunch, and was full of tasty asparagus and Portobello mushrooms. The mussels came in a herb, shallot and white wine sauce with a bit of cream and was appropriately sized for lunch. The sauce, though very good, was a bit salty. The mussels were served with a huge basket of crispy frites. The profiteroles were just great, with a warm chocolate sauce and sliced almonds, accompanied by a half of a large, ripe strawberry. All the dishes were very well presented, adding to the enjoyment of the meal. Service was very friendly, attentive and quick. We plan to return to Chez Joel again for lunch, but we'll probably wait until the weather gets better.

A sultry, intimate environment serving rustic French classics, fresh seafood and handcrafted cocktails.
Love the Franco-lounge vibe here with exceptional service and delicious apps. Unfortunately, we only had time for French 45s and deliciously fresh and briny oysters, silky foie gras and absolutely wonderful steak tartare. Perfect for meeting friends or a romantic date night. We will definitely return for dinner as we were really happy with our experience!!
I drive by Le Paris every morning on the way to work and there are always cars and people there. Today we wanted a King Cake for work. Once again there was a line of people there. We got our cake fresh from the oven and it was very good. Moist and good flavor compared to other bakeries in this area. Iâll likely go back and try some other baked goods at some point.
