This was going to be my go to place. After a few visits I decided to take my business elsewhere. The staff are very friendly, food quality is decent but overall it is just another mediocre restaurant in Highland Park. There are many options for sushi and there are plenty of better values than this location.

We have dined here a couple of times now and I think that I have found their sweet spot. It's the hibachi style food.We learned on our most recent visit that the owners used to own Kegon in Northbrook so they certainly know what they are doing when it comes to hibachi. On our first visit I ordered the Ceviche roll from the "Chef's Creative Specialties". I didn't really care for it. The roll was too big and messy to eat in the traditional way. The fish was sliced a bit too thick for my taste. And it was fairly expensive, though it does come with a cup of miso soup. I am in love though with their golden shrimp! They are cooked to perfection and decadently delicious. Love the ginger sauce that comes along with it. Next time I will ask for an extra portion of it. The flute Limoncello is a light sweet refreshing ending to a savory salty meal!Service can be spotty but we love their enthusiasm and family friendly attitude!

Really excellent sushi in highland park, on Chicago's north shore. The menu is huge and there are lots of choices. Reasonable prices for sushi. The service is great and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Very popular place on weekends so be prepared to wait. Highly recommend.

'have been enjoying exceptional Japanese cuisine here for years. The seafood is always first rate / sushi-grade and offered in numerous variations of preparations. 'have been fortunate to dine here often with Japanese friends and there is a 'Japanese' menu [in addition to their front of the house/official menu]. 'have tried the spectrum of their offerings and have yet to hit a missed note.Although their sake offerings are - somewhat, limited, they do have Sapporo Premium on draft and a full bar.Service can't be improved on, as they're most hospitable and genuinely care about how they're perceived.I can't recommend this establishment highly enough. They do luncheon specials that are of exceptionally good value; with their Bento-box luncheon offerings of beef, salmon or chicken teriyaki [either of which come with fried-rice, miso-soup, tempura shrimp and vegetables, as well as a choice of various rolls], for just $12.99 hard to pass up mid-day.Free/self-parking is available in the lot immediately out front of the restaurant and their menu is available on line/on their web-site [though not the highly variable, handwritten in Japanese menu; for that you'll have to ask when you're there].Japanese: "ä¹¾æ¯" (kanpai, lit. "Empty the glass", similar to "bottoms up" in English)

A great local find for sushi. A contemporary but casual place for sushi. Good selection of maki rolls and nigiri. All the fish was fresh and seasoned to perfection. The tempura was excellent!!! Wait staff were excellent and attentive.Great selection of beers and sake.

...even if we do carryout. We started the meal with miso soup, always yummy. Her favorite is Bento Box A, including tempuras of shrimp and vegetable, chicken teriyaki, salmon teriyaki, white rice, an additional side of tuna, salmon, cooked shrimp sushi, and 3pcs of California roll. When I spread it out on our kitchen table, it looked like a feast. A great place to treat yourself, even if you eat at home or it isn't a special occasion.

After messing up our dinner plans, we needed to get food quick. Jin 28 had our order ready in 15 minutes. We ordered Vietnamese Style Noodle with Seafood (Pho) and Pad Thai with shrimp (large) (an extra $1 for shrimp). Two egg rolls were free with a coupon from their mailed menu flyer. The egg rolls (vegetarian) tasted good but were a bit scrawny. We were surprised that the Vietnamese Style Noodle with Seafood was soup (it doesn't say so on the menu, and we were Pho ignorant), but my wife enjoyed it. My Pad Thai had lots of tasty shrimp, but the noodles all stuck together (overcooked?) and the crushed nut topping was isolated to one side of the rectangular carton. Our regular Chinese carry-out has better prices, but the free egg rolls made up for the difference. We'll probably use them again.
