Reviews on Pub food in Oak Park, Illinois, United States. Architecture buffs will be well acquainted with Oak Park, once the home of Frank Lloyd Wright, where he designed and built some of his earliest buildings. Unity Temple, the Nathan G. Moore House and Wright's own former home and studio are among the many Wright buildings still preserved in the village, while buildings such as the Cheney Mansion were designed by his students. Oak Park is also the famed birthplace of Ernest Hemingway, whose childhood home is now a museum open to visitors.

We have been here several times this past year. The beer is always fresh and we love the small batches and rotating selection. For a brew pub, they serve excellent food. You cannot go wrong with any of their flatbreads or salads. Their pimento cheese and hummus appetizer is fantastic! Service is friendly and the place has an upbeat vibe. We will definitely miss Exit Strategy when we leave Chicago this Spring!

Met up for lunch with three girlfriends on a Saturday afternoon. Staff was very attentive even when there were just two of us waiting for the others. Nice basic menu. I had the burger which was huge. Everyone enjoyed their food. Great mix of people. Family groups, girls only, guys only. The place isn't huge, but we weren't cramped. TV's for those inclined to watch college football. Looks like they have fun theme nights as well. I would go back.

Eat. Drink. Be Happy. What does it take to be a regular at Bar Louie Oak Park? An enjoyment of the craft and the desire to experience something out of the ordinary. From our Chicago roots, we've always known that having a comfortable place to hang out, ge
Day after Christmas, not in the mood for all the holiday shopping, stopped in and to my surprise they were having 5.00 Martini Thursday. Let me say -- IT WAS A GREAT GIFT. I had 3 different kinds and each one was as good as the next one. Wished I could have tried them all :-) I will definitely go back to try others. I was very shocked that it wasn't extremely busy, but it was busy enough to enjoy the atmosphere and warm welcoming.

The ethnic Irish chef de cuisine of Shanahan's attended culinary school in New Orleans and it shows. This fine Sunday they were featuring various crawfish specials. I had the crawfish fettucine Alfredo, which was a mildly spicy take on the Roman classic. My wife had the crawfish and andouille etouffe, which was outstanding. Service was friendly and quick.

My girlfriend and I went here recently for a late dinner. The late night menu was interesting a lot of heavy dishes. Everything was delicious, no complaints but also not the most memorable meal Iâve ever had. Their selection of wine//beer//spirits is incredible. Atmosphere is very intimate, low lighting throughout the entire place.

Going towards what we thought was "Checkers", we ended up in this place called Cheddar's. The theme of this place is warm, sociable bar with comfort food. The menu has lots of fried chicken, fried and grilled steaks and combos that include meat, chicken or shrimp. The pricing seems good for the volume you get, however my Philly cheese steak was just "ok". The problem was a very soft bun, wet with some gravy and cold melted cheese on top, that made it difficult to eat by hand. Once you start cutting past the cheese to eat the steak, it was obvious that there just wasn't that much steak in there. My guest had a steak and fried chicken combo with some sides, that seemed ok. The fried chicken is apparently the dish to have. In fairness, we arrived close to closing time and the staff seemed to be entrenched in clean-up and end of day rituals. The place is clean and friendly and given another opportunity, I would go for some of the combos, and not be in a hurry.

Specialty Smokehouse, Gastropub. The Wild Onion Brewery's second restaurant location. Located directly across from Harlem/Lake Green Line CTA station.
We had Chris as a server and he was pretty darn good. He offered choices and explained the many craft tap beers they offered. He explained they were not made there but at a sister craft house, thus the name Tied House. We had the Tied House Burger which was great. They were busy but we did not feel rushed. They had a large group next to us that was having a lot of fun but certainly were not rowdy. Young and old frequent this establishment, grandparents and grandchildren are made comfortable. There was supposed to be live music but the person had not arrived by the time we had finished. I could go back to this place and that means it has my recommendation.

After four years of planning and construction, Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant opened in 2005 in Orland Park, a south suburb of Chicago. The concept was unique. We would create a signature menu with a selection of dishes designed to pair perfectly with
We went with another couple and did wine tasting first. The gentleman doing the tasting was so friendly and nice. Our dinner was excellent. Three of us had Chicken Madeira. It was wonderful! My husband had a vegetarian dish, he enjoyed very much. The pretzel breadand our appetizer -egg and avocado on toast points were wonderful.

Our son goes here all the time to watch football games, so when we were in the area, this was suggested for a late lunch. We were greeted and seated immediately upon our arrival. The server was very attentive during our entire visit. The main bar area definitely has ALOT of tv's, so I imagine it's very crowded whenever various games are on. We were seated in the back dining area, where it was definitely much quieter. There were 5 in our group, and we all had a different menu item. Everything was good. All the men were part of the clean plate club - the women took some of ours home, as we couldn't finish it all.

We sat outskirts de because the weather was perfect. Our waiter came over right away with water and introduced himself. The atmosphere is very casual and the sidewalk area was very clean. We ordered quesadillas and a burger. Both were very good. I definitely would go here again
