Rancho Nuevo Mexican restaurant is proud to serve the bold flavors of Mexican cuisine to the people of Round Lake, Il. This family-owned restaurant specializes in making authentic Mexican recipes seafood favorites using only the finest, and freshest ingre
We started going here years ago. They had a limited (but very good) inexpensive menu. I went back a couple of months ago and they had hired a new chef and created a new seafood menu. The seafood menu is phenomenal and of course higher priced. The shrimp was fantastic. Plus, the still maintained their original menu and the pricing for that menu. Very well done! Just increased the value of this restaurant for me and my family.

I'm so glad I'm back home to have some of the best food, wish there was a place like this in Florida.make come back worth while.excellent food great prices you can't go wrong
The food was descent, but was disappointed that we needed to pay for a second helping of chips and salsa. I ordered guacamole for appetizer and that came out with the chips and salsa- no additional chips. Then we ordered out main meal and a refill on chips and salsa. The menu did read an additional charge, but we thought that was to dissuade people for coming in just for appetizers and salsa. The bill came and sure enough, an additional charge. I have never been to a restaurant like this where the chips and salsa weren't complimentary when we ate in.

We stopped in and discovered wonderful, homemade Mexican food. It is not fancy, but clean and the food is fresh with homemade quality ingredients. Our dishes arrived promptly with generous portions. We took enough food home for another meal each. They provide traditional chips and salsa, along with a cup of homemade soup that was a nice touch and made you feel welcome and valued. The food had amazing flavor and the salsa appeared homemade and had a nice amount of heat. This was a great visit for a taste of authentic Mexican food. We will definitely be back.

Always decent food here and very efficient from the time to receive food to the amount of care each waitress gives. This place does not give military discount, FYI. Though the food is great, I'd probably go to other Mexican restaurant establishment, because of the military discount and the prices are starting to get a little higher.
Find your nearby Taco Bell at 54 S US Highway 12 in Fox Lake. We're serving all your favorite menu items, from classic burritos and tacos, to new favorites like the $5 Double Stacked Tacos Box, Crunchwrap Supreme, Fiesta Taco Salad, and Chalupa Supreme. S
This Taco Bell is in the same building as Long John Silvers which received exactly the same review as this:The food was OK (as expected, but we like it occasionally). This particular restaurant has no business being in business. The manager pretended not to speak English. We were there for dinner. They had Grayâs Anatomy on all the televisions. I have an 8 year old and a 6 year old. We asked him to change the channel. The basketball tourney is on CBS, so we asked for that (not knowing if they had DirecTV or cable or what). In broken English he says he needs to find the remote. Time passes and he's doing everything but. Then we asked again, please change the channel or turn off the TV. We don't want to watch people being operated on while we are eating and regardless it is not an appropriate show for smaller children. By the way, we were the only ones in the restaurant. He never did change the channel. The restaurant was freezing. The ceiling fans were on. There was nowhere to get warm. We did not even finish our meals. As we were leaving we sarcastically said "thank you for putting on family friendly TV". The manager says "thank you. have a nice day". Excuse me? We've been to this particular shop before. Never again. We'll drive to another town if we want Taco Bell again. Now that I am writing this, maybe there's a reason we were the only ones there at dinner time.

Famsâs is easily missed from land, but easily found from water. It is located on a point on Fox Lake and equipped with dockage for quite a few boats. The food is authentic Mexican. All the ingredients are fresh, and the seasonings distinctive. The service is efficient and friendly. We ate on the deck in order to take in the expansive lake views. A meal at Famâs is fabulous.
Our go to for steak tacos, carne asada, tampiquena, etc. We do both dine in and call ahead. Fast and delicious. Counter service, no frills, but usually always busy. Our to go order has always been correct. Enjoy!

So hard to write a less-than-awesome review, but our favorite restaurant seems to be a little disappointing lately. New Chef? Need to update the decor a little? (Add strings of tiny lights to cover the ceiling?)The highlights: location on Fox Lake, accessible by car or boat, great patio for outside dining w/ a separate shaded area, fabulous water views, helpful servers, The lowlights: Recently, the chips have been dark & hard--not their former light and crispy treats. The carne asida was tough & stringy. The compuesto appetizer was not as perfect as it used to be. PLEASE make it awesome again!!!!

There was some confusion upon entering the restaurant whether patrons should approach the fast food style counter and order by the cash register, wait to be seated or seat yourself. Then, it seems like only the regulars knew to get up and pay by the cash register instead of being delivered a check from your server. The correct answers are if you're coming to pick up, you pay at the counter and if you're going to sit down, do so immediately. The food was tasty and nicely presented. The service was sort of no-nonsense and not particularly friendly or welcoming, but ok. I prefer Mexican restaurants that serve jalapenos or pickled carrots with the meal. At Carlos', you have to order them. Otherwise, the food was tasty and filling but not remarkable or memorable. If that's what they're shooting for, then job well-done!
