A first time visit for us and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We arrived at 5:30 and there was no room at the bar (we prefer to sit at the bar) and so without a reservation they accommodated us. By the time we left the place was packed. There are maybe 12 seats at the bar, with an open concept seating area. They have bread with an olive oil, garlic and parmesan bowl waiting for you. It was really good. No apps for us. We had a veal parmesan and baked rigatoni. Both were really excellent. They have a good wine list. Service was excellent. Don't let the 'strip mall' store front fool you. We will be back!

The finest Italian food I've had outside of Italy!(847) 358-5506
Don't be fooled by the strip shopping center location, this is the opposite of a chain restaurant. Wonderful Italian food; pastas, fish and excellent veal; an unusually large menu for such a tiny place. Reservation are recommended, especially on weekends. Service is relaxed and very welcoming.

Casual Italian restaurant offering an extensive selection of housemade and imported pastas, soups and salads, pizza, steaks, seafood and desserts. Large portions of affordably priced menu selections are prepared with the freshest ingredients available.
A treat indeed to celebrate my December birthday. My friend Merle recommended this restaurant and it was an exceptional choice. From hostess to servers our experience was most enjoyable. My luncheon choice was eggplant parmesan with a fresh caesar's salad as an excellent side offering. Merle chose chicken marsala which will certainly be my choice during our next visit.Overall, the birthday lunch was terrific and I look forward to a repeat visit long before my next birthday. Thank you Merle. Loved the meal almost as much as I enjoyed sharing the experience with you. Until we celebrate your birthday in March, thanks ever so much.
After reading great reviews of this Italian deli, my husband and I stopped by to pick up a couple of sandwiches to go. Unfortunately, I did not have the same experience as all of these wonderful reviews express. For starters, many reviews highlight how wonderful the service is. I found the service to be unorganized and a little rude. As a vegetarian, I love Italian subs without the meat. The combination of the veggies and Italian dressing with cheese and great bread just knocks it out of the park. I try them often at different locations. Naturally, I asked for their take on the Italian sub, the Buon Appetito without the meat. The young girl at the counter took our order for two of these subs, one without meat for me, the other regular for my husband. When the older woman in the back who makes the food got the order, she came up front nearly yelling at the girl at the counter "what the heck is this?! What's this no meat". I was standing right there, at the register. Yes, I am a freak who does not like meat, thank you! I've never had someone act so rudely about taking a specialty order. Who cares if YOU don't like it, it's MY sandwich and I am a paying customer! All this anti-vegetarian aggression aside, the sandwich was just ok. Their blend of olive oil Italian dressing is very bland and their bread is not nearly as good as other area delis. My husband agreed that he has had better Italian subs elsewhere in the burbs. We also split a slice of pizza, pretty highly priced at $3.75, without a drink like most places offer. Pizza is definitely not something I would order here again. Maybe we will return again if we are in the area, I don't really know. If we do, I will try one of their specialty vegetarian sandwiches or their homemade pasta, something I won't be ridiculed for spending my own money on.

My wife and I stopped here for dinner. We ate inside. This is a small restaurant that only has three tables. Most of their business is done through carryouts. We ordered their âPrimo Pizza Specialâ thin crust. We agree with the other TripAdvisor ratings that Primo Pizzaâs thin crust is very good and tasty. The crust was absolutely perfect and had a great crispy texture to it. The sausage is delicious. This is definitely a place we will put on our radar when have a taste for a good pizza in this area. We look forward to trying some of their other specialty pizzas as well.

My wife and I ordered a large house pizza here and picked it up. Although it was good, we thought it was just an average pizza. The pizza was not greasy. My wife did not think that the crust had much flavor. In Chicago, pizza is serious business.I'm sorry you didn't find the pizza to your liking. I see in your Chicago food reviews all of them are in the city. Perhaps like the previous reviewer from Costa Rica you have us confused with Sergio's Pizza on Bryn Mawr, which is actually in Chicago. Either way I saw your Chicago pizza review and I'd hold my stuffed pizza up to anything Giordano makes and although I don't specifically make a deep dish like Lou Malnati's I would once again put my stuffed pizza up against their deep dish. Or let's compare thin crust to thin crust and go with another Chicago favorite, Gino's East. A Gino's East went into Lake Zurich, a town away from us, and lasted just over a year before they closed. They then started featuring Gino's East pizza out of the Kelsey Road just down the road, there was a quick rise in business before the reviews starting coming back...."not good pizza". Shortly afterwards the Kelsey Road house went up for sale. You see where I'm going I hope. All three have been running on reputation for a long time, all three have franchised out in order to capitalize on that reputation, (nothing wrong with that) From location to location the pizza IS different, but all people hear is the name and believe me that makes the pizza taste just a little better. Sergio's has been in Barrington for over 30 years and if you don't think there are discerning consumers here, you might want to come and stay for a while. As one customer put it the other day, "Other places around here have good pizza, you have pizza that measures up to city (chicago) standards". So as many offers as I have received over the years to franchise out, there will only be ONE Sergio's. Because no one cares more about how the food coming out of here tastes than I do. Once again, I appreciate your review and apologize if you found the pizza lacking. Thanks, Tony Dioguardi

Neoteca is a modern wood-fired pizzeria & wine bar located in Downtown Barrington.
Visited friends in Barrington and this was the lunch spot of choice. Barrington is a wonderful place for visiting if you want to get a little out of Chicago. If you chose Barrington then this lunch spot will not disappoint. I had Arancini which were very good. A Barrata salad also excellent. All the dishes we tried were first class. A good wine list and cocktails.Nice room and reasonable service. Generally a nice choice.

Recently went back after a long time. Food is average and we felt it has declined since our last visit a few years back. When you pay $20 for pasta you expect it to be handmade. Pizza was substandard with an overly thick crust. Dessert just ok. It seemed busy when we got in at 7pm but died down very quickly by 9pm...in our section we were the only ones there...on a Saturday night!! Service mediocre. Nobody came by to pick up our bread plates until we started piling them up on the window sill because there was no room on the table. They forgot our coffee with dessert but charged us anyway. Honestly, wouldnât come back. For these prices we expected more.

I came for dinner hosted by some Indian friends who live in South Barrington. This is one of their favourite places. This was a well appointed space that was not overly noisy and made for a good conversation with my hosts. My entree was a vegetarian bucatini that was well made. I also tasted the eggplant parmesan that my host had ordered and it was also very well done. (We had tried to get into Agio's in Palatine that evening because of the reputation of its eggplant parmesan.) The portions were large enough that we decided to pass on dessert.

Awesome experience! I believe the person who took our order was actually the owner, she was great! She suggested the Italian cheesy beef pizza & it was delicious! I also ordered the Centorri moscato, which was so yummy! My Fiancé order the chicken Parmesan & absolutely loved every bite! The gentleman that brought our food was also very polite. Everything about this place was great, completely worth the drive!
