we had the poutine and it was delicious with such a big and hearty portion that myself and my son had leftovers for the next day-- just from that single plate. they've got this place with really, really nice urban type of décor and feel, eating out of metal pail types of receptacles. want to come back and try more here. you can tell there's a "cheffy" type of vibe here but at the same time the place is nice and cozy and comfy.

We totally enjoyed our brunch at the restaurant with good coffee, and a good variety of food and baked goods. The large map of the canal was very interesting and informative. The gift shop was not large but adequate. We were very satisfied with everything.

Fine food is served at this "Hole-In-The-Wall". She had the grilled salmon with a sweet potato(maple flavored), and I had a Filet Mignon with baked potato and vegetables. The restaurant opens a 5 PM and you do need reservations as the place is small (10 tables) and in high demand. Locals eat here and every seat was taken including the 18 seats at the bar. The location is oddly unusual in the middle of vacant small storefronts and is along the river. Inside is all new and of modern design. Bar tender friendly and good.

Dinner on holiday with best friend my wife. Smaller place with local charm. Barkeeper was friendly and greeted us on entry. Beer on tap was your normal industrial pulls, with a few notable crafts. Service was good, but I think the server forgot our order, or the cook was killing chickens, as the fried chicken seemed to take forever to get to the table. Large portions for a reasonable price. Actually two meals for us. Cannot complain too much. Recommended.

Mark Allen's knows what it takes to be an outstanding restaurant. Starting with their service; servers were prompt, friendly and smiling during our entire meal. The food - bartender knew how to make the perfect dry martini anywhere - bar none! My husband had their 13 ounce New York sirloin medium-well; cooked to perfection, the meat was seasoned beautifully.I had the Wonderburger, absolutely magnificent. Well done Mark Allen's, we will tell everyone about you and we will be back!Hi CadKdb, Thank you for taking the time and leaving us an amazing review! We are so happy to hear your experience was positive in every possible way. It was truly a pleasure to serve you and we look forward to your next visit! :)

Husband and I were out for a Sunday drive on this beautiful day in May. We were originally going to stop in Utica for a late lunch. So glad we didn’t and kept driving or we would have missed this place. Awesome food, wonderful service. Our waitress was super friendly. Their Bama Nachos were phenomenal and we split the Ruben. Generous portions. Can’t wait to go back and try the meat sampler.

My husband and I had dinner at the bar on a Saturday. Everybody was so friendly and the regulars introduced themselves. We started with the rav and broth, since we had never heard of it before. It is a local soup of ravioli (or tortellini in this case) and chicken broth. It was pretty good. We then split the southwest chicken wrap with sweet potato fries and we were both happy with the choice. Michele took good care of us. I would visit again if I were in the area.

What is really nice about this place is the seating in a screened area facing the street. It is "outside" without having people walking by and smelling the fumes of the garbage truck going down the street. Beer selection was good, but pricey. My salad was very different and enjoyable. Wife got a burger, which was cooked to perfection, but wife likes them burnt, so was not satisfied. Service was great and timely. Overall cost was higher than a tavern, but expected that. Recommended.Thank you for joining us, we are happy you got to enjoy the screened in patio. Our chefs love to create unique and delicious flavor combinations for our ever-changing menu! We are always happy to cook burgers to any temperature you prefer! We hope you can join us again!Best,Ryan
