We arrived 3 minutes late, they close at 9, but we did not have to beg too much for them to open it for us. We were a large party, so it was worth it for the bussiness, but they could have said no. I am so glad they opened it for us, because this is the best icecream I have tried on this side of the ocean. I was recently in Italy and this one is very similar. We each ordered a different flavor and they are all amazingly good! Don't miss it.

Homemade bagels baked fresh EVERY morning - lox flown in from NY - generous portions of great food in a good old fashioned NY deli setting. The meats are cooked in house and you can taste the quality!
We stopped at the Original Bagel & Bialy restaurant which is located at The Grove Shopping Center which is the northeast corner of McHenry Rd. & Lake Cook Rd. There is plenty of parking in the lot with very easy access. When we walked in, the Original Bagel & Bialy was really busy. Rather than wait, this time we picked up a half dozen of different bagels with some cream cheese and we were off. The bagels were quite good and very fresh. The price was reasonable. The staff was friendly and efficient.Hello Allen, Thank you for stopping by and updating a favorable review of the Original Bagel & Bialy restaurant. We are glad that you found the place to be accessible and the bagels with the cream cheese to be fresh and good. Also, we are delighted to see that you liked the staff and found them to be friendly and efficient. We invite you to join us again for an invigorating treat with us. Hope to see you soon!

We've eaten at this well managed eatery at least a dozen times, and it's been consistently excellent. Steaks and fish are both carefully prepared, and although the service may not be Michelin perfect, it's friendly and consistently efficient. The trick here is to go early if you can or to prepare to stop at the bar for a libation before going to your table. Parking is a problem - the place is so popular, you'll have a tussle finding a spot to stow your car.

Established in 1849, the Village Tavern has a welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff and generous servings. Antiques help add to the ambience. There is live music on some evenings. The pib area is separate from the restaurant. We enjoyed our meal, especially the huge onion rings!

Very busy venue, but line moves briskly. Once seated, service is personal and lively. Food is excellent and plentiful. Great place for a fine meal.

This location has had numerous restaurants - none have been able to stay open. Iâm not sure why as we are always looking for good places to try. This restaurant was ok. Service wasnât particularly good - our waiter was Perry. He wrote everything down but couldnât remember anything. My husbands salad to which he added salmon contained a large piece of salmon - salad was ordinary. I had an average turkey club with limp cold fries. So disappointing. There is an outdoor patio which was great as it was a beautiful night. We will not be back.

It's been years since I've been to Walker Brothers, but this past trip reminded me of what I've been missing. Short wait to get in (which is surprising for a Sunday morning). Promptly greeted by the wait staff, and food came out hot and fast and AMAZING!!! Highly recommended! Also, they do have gluten free options for those with food allergies.

The charming antique village of Long Grove has seen its ups and downs over the years, and the Chatter Box is a much-needed breath of fresh air for the area. Set just off the street in a barn house, the Chatter Box has a main floor which is dominated by a large bar in the center with tables around it. We dined here at a table for a Sunday brunch. What immediately surprised us was how homey the place was. It felt like a neighborhood bar, and all of the staff and the owner were extremely professional and friendly. Maybe a total of 10 tables around the bar, it's intimate. There is a larger area for dining upstairs, but it wasn't open when we dined. There is a large selection of craft brews and cocktails available, as well as some refreshing house takes on standard drinks. Food stood out as excellent! We tried the bacon wrapped dates as an appetizer which were very tasty. The fish and chips were authentic to my Scottish mother-in-law's homemade recipe as well. I had the special of the day fish salad which was ample, with a great lemon garlic dressing. My other dining mate had a shrimp cocktail where the cocktail sauce had bits of shrimp in it. For dessert, we tried the homemade deep fried doughnut split in half with vanilla ice cream which was decadent and big enough for three to share. Neighboring tables were friendly as the drinks flowed. We couldn't pass up the pineapple upside down shots. Yum. Their tacos and the sliders looked amazing. We met the owner, and he explained that everything was made from scratch in the kitchen. That makes sense, because food was great and we had a great time. This is a gem of a place!

Loaded with family traditions, homemade BBQ sauce and a secret family pizza sauce. Owner Joanie Shunia has renovated the space to include a new bar and a bright, welcome interior which house some of the original recipes from the first Village Pizza of Det
We were in the area spending Christmas with our family. We had tickets to "Holiday Inn" and were looking for an after-theater meal. Pizza was suggested and gluten-free was a must. I always count on Google and Trip Advisor and once again they did not fail me! Joanie's is locally owned and the owner himself helped the five of us find a spot. He noted that karaoke would begin in just over an hour. Well, the pizza, both gluten and gluten-free were great! MANY choices of toppings and sizes to please all. Great salad, too. We all enjoyed our choices AND were dubious when the karaoke equipment was brought it, but that just brought more pleasure to our evening. This guy had a following at Joanie's and were quite good at the numbers they sang. It wasn't loud and rowdy, and we stayed on enjoying the music and people involved. We highly recommend all aspects of Joanie's! (It looked as though they had a good takeout pizza business going, too.)
