I stopped by at about 10:30 one night and ordered a sandwich and mashed potatoes. After waiting for the food, I thought the bag felt a little light. I looked inside and found no mashed potatoes. No problem. I went through the drive thru again and explained what was missing. I pulled up to the window and was told to go ahead and move to where the cars wait for their food. WHAT? At that point it was obvious to me that they didn't have any mashed potatoes made, and hoped this customer would just drive home and forget it. After I said that I'd just wait at the window, a lovely manager named Deborah came to the window and threatened to call the cops if I didn't move. After this, I e-mailed the owners and received no response. I wouldn't go back to this Culver's if it were the only restaurant for fifty miles.

Pop's Italian Beef & Sausage is a popular restaurant chain that opened in 1980 and currently has 12 locations in Chicago's south suburbs and Indiana. My wife and I are waiting for Pop's newest location to open on West North Avenue between La Salle and North Wells Street in our Gold Coast/Old Town neighborhood. The sooner, the better. Until then, we are content to visit the original Pop's Beef at 7153 West 127th Street in Palos Heights and the location at 10337 South Kedzie and at 18328 Governors Highway in Homewood and in Orland Park, Tinley Park, Lyons, Joliet, Lockport and Romeoville. A group of old high school pals met in Homewood recently and sampled a lot of items on Pop's menu...chili, cream of chicken rice soup, Italian beef, BBQ beef, corned beef on rye, triple cheeseburger, double boneless BBQ rib sandwich, chili dog, even a one-pound jumbo shrimp dinner. We washed it all down with milk shakes, root beer, lemonade and fruit punch. Pop's would be a welcome addition to the North/Wells Street corridor.

Home to America's favorite Chicago-style hot dogs, Italian beef, burgers, salads, and chocolate cake.
I usually travel to Chicago every 4-5 years. I usually start missing Deep Dish Pizza, and Garrett's Popcorn. NOW after the 1st time there add Portillo's to my Chicago Favorite Eats. Did a web search of Best Chicago Dogs before my visit and many places came up with great reviews. What I start noticing after reading many reviews is that a lot of reviews said the particular place they were reviewing was good but would rather have Portillo's instead, that sold me on Portillo's. Plus I liked the items on there menu. I had the loaded Portillo's Dog and the Combo Italian Sausage. Hot dog was excellent and all the flavors went great with the dog. I also had the Italian Sausage Combo. It's a very delicious Italian Sausage topped with Italian Beef and Sweet Peppers. The bread was very hearty and could stand up to this delicious masterpiece. What made it even better was the bread had certain places that was kind of soaked with the Aus Jus. Could have gotten it dipped or with extra gravy but they way they made it was perfection without the extras. Didn't try the Chocolate Cake Shake which was highly reviewed, but did have a piece of Chocolate cake to go, The cake was very rich and chocolate so I can see how a Chocolate Cake Shake would be the BOMB!!!! Wife is an expert on good Tamales and They didn't disappoint on those either. Very large tamale stuffed with goodness. Onion Rings were spot on and you can tell they are of the homemade variety. Portillo's is now one of my must haves when visiting The Windy City. Very Reasonable Price--Clean--Friendly--Fast Service, & AWESOME FOOD!!!!!!!

Lately I've been on a quest for find a really great pulled pork (sandwich or platter) which is how we wound up here. Especially when you look at other places they have really good prices.I had the pulled pork platter with fries and mac and cheese. It should have come with bread, which they forgot but there was more than enough food that it wasn't missed. The mac and cheese was a little bland. Not the typical elbow macaroni you usually see, instead a longer noodle. My wife and I loved the fries. More the type you get some where like 5 Guys burgers, a little darker with the skin still on some. I knew the pork wasn't going to the be end of my search when it came out rather heavily coated in sauce (sauce was good). Overall the pork was good but I feel most of the flavor probably due to the amount of sauce was from the sauce. Kind of hard to tell. Still made a great lunch. My wife had chicken Caesar wrap which she enjoyed with her fries. Overall a nice stop and if in the area again I wouldn't hesitate to stop at again. From the signs on the walls they seem to have a decent or growing selection of different beers. There is also a display with cupcakes and brownies for dessert.

Great food. The stuffed mushrooms and bacon onion tart were absolutely delicious. The crust of the tart was light and flaky. My husband loved the scallops. For dessert, the key lime pie and chocolate mousse cake were equally delicious. The French martini is quite good. Lastly, our server James was wonderful especially with his Liverpool accent.

After the Chicken Caprese sandwich we shared a amazing Coconut Cream Pie slice. My favorite sandwich followed by a homemade dessert was heaven.Their best server waited on us! She is so thoughtful. Refilling my tea cup was very nice indeed; totally unexpected. Not expecting such thoughtfulness was a real comfort.

I "highly" recommend that you visit The Blueberry Hill Pancake House if you are "ever" in the Flossmoor/Homewood part of the Chicago South Suburbs... They have "waaaay" too many great food items to put on this site, but I guarantee that you will not leave there dissatisfied or hungry... I love this place... Will visit every time that I visit my aunt who lives close by.... AWESOME FOOD AND VERY FRIENDLY EMPLOYEES/FAMILY!!!

We had a wedding rehearsal dinner here. They have a back room that we had to ourselves for most of the time. The wait staff was a bit slow but eh food made up for it. The lasagna was out of this world and a huge portion.

Wait staff are knowledgeable of menu items. I've eaten in and have called in take-out orders, both experiences I have nothing to complain about. Can't wait for warmer weather to be able to sit outside on patio. Love this place.
