Find out what American restaurants to try in Crestwood. Crestwood is a village in Cook County, Illinois, United States. The population was 10,950 at the 2010 census. Crestwood has been cited as a success story by proponents of low taxes and minimal government, but in April 2009, the Chicago Tribune revealed that Crestwood's low taxes were due to illegally saving money on its water bills by secretly supplementing its drinking water from a well that was contaminated with toxic chemicals. "Officials in the south suburb had pumped tainted water to residents for more than two decades to avoid the cost of fixing leaky water mains."

My daughter and I stopped for a early dinner on the way downstate. I picked up 14 bottles of wine from the wine club. [Yea]. She had the shrimp and scallop risotto with spinach and basil, and I had the grilled scallops. Both were very good. We were disappointed that the shrimp and grits were off the menu; they will be back in the cold months I am sure. We got there about 4:30 pm and parking was easy. Service was excellent.

On a cold December evening, we arrived at Zacharyâs and opted for the back room for warmth and coziness. Our appetizer was the grilled Octopus, which was perfectly grilled and spiced. Iâm not fond of the tiny head, which tends to be a bit slimy inside, but Iâd give it a 10, on a scale of 1 to 10. For entrees, my wife had the 9 oz. filet and I had the Veal Oscar. The Filet was perfectly done and was a 10. I would rate the Veal Oscar as an 8, for 2 reasons. First, the asparagus should have had the stems peeled a bit. They were a little âwoodyâ for my taste. Second, the Bearnaise Sauce was a zero. Someone needs to revisit the recipe and see whatâs wrong. That was not a Bearnaise Sauce! Finally, for dessert, we split the bread pudding. OMG!!! That is the best bread pudding Iâve ever had. A touch of chocolate at the bottom with a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream on top made this meal memorable. Iâll be back, especially for the bread pudding.

We were checking into the Doubletree and tired form our journey so decided to dine in. We were disappointed with the steaks. They were tasteless and the meat was dry and the price was above average. We didn't eat dinner there again but had the breakfast buffet in the mornings which was good. The service is good in the breakfast room.

Dined on a Friday night. This is our 4th visit and it continues to meet our expectations with great food and service. The menu changes so you can eat here many times and have your favorite or a different spin on an old dish. They revamped the scallops, and it was a hot item of the night. I had it and many others as well. The cornmeal crusted scallops with beets and sweet potato hash was delicious. Well cooked, flavorful and colorful. We started with the grilled oysters. Always good. Husband had catfish which was very good as well. Peach cobbler and bananas foster bread pudding were excellent. Great drink and cocktails. Great service. Corn muffins are also very good with the garlic butter. If you havenât been, go and get some Nola cuisine. They also have brunch and special events. Prices are reasonable. Dinner for 2 with appetizer, 2 entrees and 2 desserts $120. Must visit. Fun atmosphere as well.

We stopped in for a quick lunch...it was hubby and myself. We haven't been to Lone Star for a while..after a couple disappointing visits, we decided to give it a rest. However we were pleasantly surprised how the place has improved. This is a chainrestaurant and we understand some things are beyond the individual restaurants ability to change. We both had the 8oz Sirloin dinner..$14.99...came with two sides..we both had salad and baked potato. Jared our server was helpful, attentive and friendly. Our food was delivered in a timely manner. Our drinks were refilled without requests. Offers of addition bread were forthcoming. The salad was crisp fresh greens with a tasty French (Russian) dressing. Baked potato was hot with enough butter...and steaks were quite good...I see another visit in the short future..

Okay, so the service was attentive, what did we leave out? The sound of the service! It was one of the loudest restaurants we have experienced. There was a relatively constant clatter of dishes that eventually became a table joke. Easy to fix with a bit of attention to detail!

We arrived in town and I saw the review and decided we had to try it. We got a seat in the bar area. There were various TVs around but the sound was down. The waitress showed up and I told her we had no idea as to what was the best to order. She suggested the meatball appetizer. --- DoneWe then ordered two different Italian dishes. Way too much food. The meatballs were very good. The appetizer is 15 (I think) small meatballs with sauce (gravy) and cheese. Very tasty. We finished half of them. The meals were good too and, of course, we took food to our daughter's for her to have leftovers.Best was the chef came out to chat with us and others. I always like that they come out and see what people think of their dishes. I'm glad we went.
