Reviewed By jcjb1Definitely not in a tourist area, so unless you speak fluent Portuguese you may need to utilise Google Translate fairly frequently, but Orange Praia is a lovely hotel that's right on the beach, directly next to the Fort and a 5 minute boat ride to Coroa do Aviao, which is stunning and definitely worth a visit. The staff are fantastic - none spoke English but they were all incredibly helpful and patient with our pigeon Portuguese! My partner was unwell with a cough while we were there, and the staff on reception called a pharmacy for us to have medication delivered - I had asked for a cab to the nearest pharmacy but they did this for us instead, which was obviously a bit of a godsend! The food in the restaurant is also fantastic, specifically from the A La Carte menu (although the burgers are great too) - again, the restaurant & bar staff are attentive, and in spite of the language barrier, nothing was too much trouble. The pool area is lovely and the rooms are clean and spacious. Take insect repellent though - the windows in the rooms don't seal all the way around, so we were eaten alive on our first night there. Overall this is a fantastic hotel - we booked it last minute so weren't sure what to expect, but if you're looking for relaxation and staff who will really look after you, you can't go wrong here. The rooms and decor are a little dated, but don't let that put you off - it's magic ?

Excellent Breakfast
Reviewed By jcfedorThough I didn't stay at Pousada Ruinas do Pilar, we did go there for breakfast on Sunday and the food was excellent. The owner Ron was a gracious host, and delivered food to the table himself. The food was a mix of traditional local food, pancakes, cake, and local fruit. The banana bread was made from bananas growing at the pousada. The cook visited the table to make sure that everything was good. And Matilde was particularly friendly at check-out (when we paid for breakfast). Recommended!

A pousada é a extensão da nossa casa! Eu fui com minha esposa e filhos de 5anos e outro de 8 meses e todos nós ficamos muito felizes em "estar em casa" e desfrutar deste paraíso chamado Itamaracá!

A Pousada tem um ambiente familiar e caseiro, tratamento personalizado, oferecemos sempre o que ha de melhor em atencao ao HOSPEDE. Temos um otimo cafe da manha incluido na diaria, estamos pertinho da praia com barzinhos na orla. Proximo a parada de onibus, padarias , restaurantes , farmacia e principais pontos turisticos da Ilha de Itamaraca. Todos os quartos da Pousada Ciranda possuem Ar condicionado e ventilador (os dois!), TV, Frigobar, Chuv. Q/F e servico de quarto.

Reviewed By DoffaI stayed one night in this pension (pousada) and cannot really recommend it, because of the relatively high price for a very simple room: The old style box type air-con worked, but was very noisy. The shower curtain did fell several times and the bed is nothing outstanding at all. Breakfast was quite simple. The room would be okay for a price of 60 Reais but not 120 Reais. Reception staff was very friendly, in deed. The pousada is in a dark street off the main street. During the off season it might get difficult to find a restaurant during the week after 9.00 p.m. close by. The Ilha de Itamaracacá is a rural area with some some nice culture and nature spots but one or two days are enough for a visit.

Reviewed By edyaciolyAs acomodações são simples, porém aconchegantes. bom atendimento dos funcionários, além de você poder visitar a maravilhosa ilha de Itamaracá com seus encantos naturais. Recomendo fazer um passeio de barco até a coroa do avião.
