Pierre and Sandrine have been running a fantastic restaurant for years now - first at Chez Renaud in Versailles and now at l'Opporthym in Gambais.Pierre's food is always excellent - he makes the best of local, seasonal, ingredients through skilled cooking and delicate seasoning.Sandrine's service is incredible - she manages the entire front of house and desserts single handedly - whilst remaining helpful and friendly. As a long-term patron of both Chez Renaud and l'Opporthym, and having eaten at almost all of the restaurants in and around Versailles, I can only recommend you visit Pierre and Sandrine and see for yourself! We're proud you had such a nice meal.If you have anything to suggest, let us know.Hope to see you asap,Pierre & Sandrine

Le K'meleon

If you visit the centre ville of town searching for food and or drink and find that it's too crowded or want a burger & beer menu then take a walk past the castle and turn right uphill slightly and carry on along the road leading away from the centre but also stay along the castle grounds' walls. I am guessing here, I think the walk is about 500 meters. The mini town bus route stops nearby this restaurant too.Take a look at their beer menus. There's a nice micro-brew IPA for 6€. I had a pint of local tap beer for about the same price. It's Rambouillet which means that's the average price for a beer around here. They had a game playing on the big screen. The place also sells tobacco so the door area gets a little busy with patrons. The place was semi quiet when I was there but you could see (the pictures on the wall) that the place gets busy with a young crowd during concert or theme evenings. If you can manage to find an entrance to the castle grounds and it's open then you can have a nice stroll back to the centre ville.I like this place and will come back for a happy hour visit. Bon ap!
