There aren't many restaurants that rate this highly on trip advisor with this many reviews so looking at the relatively straightforward menu I was curious to see whether it is merited and for some reason I reckon it is. I guess the point is that there is some really well executed, satisfying, honest, traditional cooking going on here which is delivered in a really pleasing simple way. When it boils down to it, what more should want from a meal? Don't come here if you want flashy gimicky creations that you can post on instagram: come here to eat and enjoy the experience, and also to drink what I felt were a really well-chosen interesting range of wines which were all available by the glass and relatively sensibly priced. I am no expert on current Paris eateries, but if there are more places still around like Desvouges, then some of my dwindling confidence in french cooking might soon be restored in the capital!

Tried the place after reading reviews. Good small restaurant with a nice fixed selection of food. Enjoyed a good three course meal and wine in a nice atmosphere with good service. Would definitely return.

We are closed between July 28th and August 29th. Reopening on Thursday, August 30th. French restaurant. Home-made.
Being in France, we wanted to eat something French, so a bit of research and a 15 minute walk took us to Le217 Brasserie, so named because it was located at number 217 on the Avenue Daumesnil. It was *very* French, so much so that the manager and waiters spoke very little English. That was fine though and there was no mistaking the warmth of their welcome or service. We arrived bang-on opening time but it soon filled up, which is always a good sign. In for a cent, in for a Euro with the food choices. We shared a starter of snails, which were beautifully cooked in garlic and herbs, but somewhat difficult for amateurs like us to extract from their shells. Clare had a fantastic bruschetta topped with ham and mushrooms for her main, while I went full-on French and had the steak tartare, resplendent with raw egg yolk and a side of chunky chips. Alongside this we enjoyed a carafe of a fantastic Beaujolais. For dessert Clare had the cafe gourmand - a coffee served with three mini-desserts (each of which were excellent). I went for an ice-cream which was also very enjoyable. For a great, traditional French meal a bit off the beaten track, Le217 is well worth the visit.

We were staying in charenton-le-Pont instead of main Paris in September 2013. The three of us came here for dinner one evening. Friendly staff welcomed and sat us. We each had the plat and dessert special. I had the salmon which I see is no longer on the menu. It was very good. Also, I had the pear tarte instead of tarte tatin for a change. Pears were very juicy and pastry was very tasty too. Good service urging our meal. Very nice restaurant to dine at. Reasonable prices. Enjoyed our dining experience thoroughly.

Our restaurant will be closed from the 28th of jully to the 21st of august of 2017
If you really want to eat good burgers, go to this place.Hands down the best burger I ever had in my life!We got to this place around noon, the place was packed but we were seated quickly. It has a nice French atmosphere, but not tourists-french.The menu is simple, with a nice burger selection at really good prices. All the burgers comes with small salad and fries. They are VERY generous with the toppings, and the mayonnaise sauce on the side is heaven! So if you want to eat the best burger in the world (yes, world!) go there, you will not regret it! The staff was really friendly, and if you don't speak french they have an english menu :)I would definitely go there again! I'm really happy we've found this place.

This restaurant has the word cabaret in it, and it is definitely not a cabaret atmosphere. You think you are in an Argentine restaurant because of the decor, but it is really a French restaurant. It is a very cheerful, somewhat cramped restaurant (but that was ok), with great, cheerful service. We went for lunch and it seemed like a lunch crowd of people who were on lunch break for lunch. It must also be great for dinner. We had a great starter of Basque paté, and then the entrecôte with really great French fries. The meat was tender and delicious. Ah! and the dessert was super. Definitely a place to return!

A nice and typical french restaurant with creative and fresh homemade cooking, located on a village square in the heart of Paris, with a few tables outside. A new menu each day.
This little restaurant is in a lovely setting across from the Notre Dame de la Gare. The staff is friendly and attentive and the dishes are delicious. A new take on tomato gazpacho - addition of strawberry and basil for a delightful taste combination. The main dish of pasta artichoke and salmon made this meal memorable.

One of those restaurants with both great food and warm and friendly service. Three of us had steaks with various sauces and one had the scallops. Every dish was well prepared and delicious. The owner gave us wine and, after dinner, some samples of rum on the house. Super friendly owner and chef. We felt at home on our first night in Paris. They told not to miss the Palais Garnier during our stay. We took his advice and so happy we did. Don't miss it!

We were recommended to this restaurant and it certainly didn't disappoint. The first impression is that the staff are very friendly, very knowledgeable and speak English. The menu is compact but changes monthly and they are willing to adapt to particular individual requirements which was a great help for us. We spend a lovely evening there and would most certainly go out of our way to return.

We went there to have dinner Tuesday evening and got the best food ever. The waiter did not speak much English but the service was still very friendly and good. We highly recommend this place.
