Things to do in Fontainebleau

What a very strange place, like something out of the 80s that is crying out for a bit of a refurb and and injection of life. We had a large group but we were the only people in a very large place. So not great on atmosphere. Service tried to be friendly but was, to be perfectly honest, clumsy and amateurish. And the food was mediocre, 'chicken or fish?', disguised by enormous side salads and, like my old school gcse coursework, based on quantity rather than quality. Huge portions, surprise huge dessert, way over the top and not particularly tasty. Very odd experience.Merci Monsieur pour cet avis, et espérons que vous soyez remis de cette "étrange expérience" !bien cordialement

Le Franklin caught our eye for its location and style. When we checked in we realized dinner didn't start until 7pm so we grabbed a beer a couple of doors down. We ate outside on a warm October night and we enjoyed people watching in Fontainebleau. The bistro has a nice selection of local wines. We split a salad and I loved the beef and my wife had the chicken plate. There seemed to be a mix of tourists and locals here and we really loved the atmosphere.

The food was really good, the best calamari I have had in a long time. The first server we had made us move table and then wasnât happy that we only ordered a starter and a green salad but we only wanted a snack. Other service wasnât bad. I will say again the food was excellent.

The restaurant is situated close to the well-known castle of Fontainebleau. The service was adequate, but friendly. The quality of the food high, they have a good menu and the ambiance is nice, at least if you are not looking for a posh dinner. If the weather permits, it is nice to sit outside. Knowledge of English is, as in so many restaurants in France, limited, but you can get around.

The team of La Petite Ardoise offers an original and friendly cuisine. A home-made cuisine based on fresh products according to the seasons in the form of Dishes and Small Dishes.
We had dinner here last night whilst in the area on business. Selected this restaurant as it was highly rated on tripadvisor and I understand why! We managed to get one of the last tables. Quaint if a small restaurant. Warm welcome with free appetisers as soon as we arrived. Excellent fixed menu with a wide variety of dishes. Probably mid priced but worth it! We had scallops, beef and then pear with brioche for dessert. All excellent and very well presented. Washed down with the local beer. Highly recommend La Petite Ardoise.

A group of 13 traveled from Fontainebleau to L'Anneau de Mallarme. The food was very good, the setting beautiful and what really was great was the friendly service. We were a group coming from all over the world (no French people) and we felt so at home. I hope I can visit again, especially in the summer months to enjoy that beautiful terrace on the river.Hi, Thank you so much for your comment. We hope to see you next time you will be in Fontainebleau

We reached the restaurant around 7:30pm, and it was a quiet Thursday evening with only 3 other tables occupied (total of 10 tables in the restaurant).Ordering was straightforward as they have an English menu, although the servers don't speak English, we managed to communicate to each other. The crepe dough is 100% organic flour and its crispy on the outside but soft in the inside. Very great crepes! We ordered a salad to share, and each of us have our own crepe. For the dessert, their crepes are slightly softer (not so crispy).I highly recommend this place!Thank you very much for your avis.I'm happy to see you soon in this restaurant. The Direction.

This is an absolute gem of a restaurant! Japanese-French fusion, expertly done by chef Kunihisa Goto. The service is impeccable and watching the staff work the room like a perfectly choreographed ballet is a joy. Each dish was exquisitely presented and inventive. We had the Wagu beef for our main and it was out of this world! The wine that es recommended to accompany it was perfect. I cannot recommend it highly enough. It is quite pricey, possibly because of its location but also, we went a la carte. A menu dégustation was about 80 euros each without wine. But well worth it as you get all the amuse bouches and mignardises etc. Go soon as I am sur Mr Goto will soon be awarded his second Michelin star and youâll be lucky to get in! Outstanding.

Lovely welcome to the restaurant. Been here several times before and not been disappointed. Very nice home cooked food with good portion size, Chicken in sauce was very nice and popular, seemed that everyone was ordering the chicken, mushrooms and mashed potato with truffle oil. The potato, I could have eaten with nothing else it was so good.Lamb was very good too, and lots of it, partner wondered if it was going to end!Can recommend this place. Will be back!
