Reviewed By 842lyndasLovely weekend. M et Mme were friendly and very helpful. Would definitely return to this well appointed hotel. We had our small dog with us and they were happy to accommodate him. The hotel is perfectly placed to enjoy the restaurants and shops of St Pierre.

Each has something quirky but very appropriate - upstairs loft area, well thought out decoration. I particularly liked the “Whale” bookcase made from an old oil drum! Fresh fruit and extensive continental breakfast available. English speaking staff very helpful. Most dog friendly hotel we found in 3 weeks touring France trip. Provide waste bags and waste bins. Dogs welcome in rooms, on grounds and adjacent beach (unusual on mainland beaches) . Barbecue areas provided. Nice pool and plenty loungers and umbrellas. Wonderful sunsets. Short beach or road walk (10 mins) to fishing village with many restaurants, shops, supermarket etc. but 3 mins walk other direction is Le Cap. Drinks, occasional live music, pizza, burgers and local dishes well prepared and reasonably priced. Nice atmosphere, mainly locals. We booked in for 2 days and extended to a week. Very relaxing and highly recommend Hotel Lumiere.

The hotel is very comfortable in a great location with the option of the pool, the beach, the local Port or fabulous walks and cycle rides at hand. Our hosts were very attentive and helpful at all times. We enjoyed a thoroughly relaxing holiday - we will return.

Reviewed By J5721LBjoancmy husband and I had a 4 day break here in mid April. The hotel sits in an excellent location and offers many super facilities. The staff were exemplary and made our short break memorable. We were celebrating our golden wedding (albeit a bit delayed due to Covid) and the hotel went out of the way to make our stay perfect. The food was first class and the ea se of using a heated indoor pool straight from the room in slippers and gowns suppplied added to our enjoyment. THANK YOU

Located right on the "Plage du Soleil" (Sunny Beach), very south of the Ile d'Oléron, the hotel benefits from a totally quiet and preserved site. Facing the ocean, the terraces, some of the rooms and the restaurant are living at the rythm of tides ; Some other rooms are located on the garden side. All bedrooms (13-31 m2) are nicely decorated and provide very comfortable queen or king size beds, and fully equipped bathrooms (italian showers)

Reviewed By ToastedWombatVery friendly andf helpful staff, in a quiet location. The rooms are small, but ours was efficiently laid out. Nice to have a/c, with temperature reaching 35C. The restaurant was excellent for dinner, really good fish. Breakfast good, perhaps I would have liked more fruit.

Good location but a little dated
Reviewed By daffystjobThis hotel is in a pretty decent location, there's a beach within easy reach and walking into the centre is also a doddle. The room was big with an extra bed above the bathroom. The terrace was small but functional as we didn't really use it for sunbathing. The room is clean, tidy and functional although it feels a touch outdated, this isn't a problem for us though. The pool area is pretty good, there were always enough chairs and parasols for all the guests. We opted for a breakfast on one of the days, there was plenty of food to choose from and of good quality. This hotel also offers parking which is very helpful in this area.

Absolutely not a 4 star hotel! Disappointing!
Reviewed By jeetees94With the rooms prices and the 4 stars I expected something else: nothing in this hotel equals a 4 stars hotel except maybe the pool and outdoor garden area. Indeed, the view on the ocean is breathtaking... IF you have the right room! Otherwise it’s really not worth it. The common areas aren’t memorable. In the rooms you can hear the road, the elevator, other guests inside and outside. The bathroom doesn’t have walls (and I was there with my family so that was an issue) and there’s no where to hang wet towels. The robe (despite the fact that it was wrapped) had lipstick marks inside the sleeves. You can only log in to the WiFi with 2 devices per room which I find poor. The furnitures aren’t meeting my expectation either for this price. The restaurant was closed this year and this was a big disappointment. Nevertheless the breakfast is luckily available and again almost not meeting the 4 stars expectations. Except for the pastries and bakery products, the products aren’t of high quality and appear to belong more to a school cafeteria (which goes for the trays). The gym is quite small and in the middle of the corridor so everybody can look at you train. There’s no yoga mat for stretching or floor workout. The pool area is gorgeous, and that’s the prettiest place of the hotel. The view is beautiful, the water is great and the atmosphere is lovely and relaxing. I spent a lot of time there. Besides all of those remarks, the staff was polite and welcoming and helpful, the hotel was very clean and the location is super nice. The beach (which isn’t private) is awesome and very close.
