IJsselstein is a municipality and a city in the Netherlands, in the province of Utrecht. IJsselstein received city rights in 1331. IJsselstein owes its name to the river Hollandse IJssel which flows through the city.

Like much of the Netherlands, the food here can be what is termed "Indonesian-Chinese"...but stick to the normal Chinese menu (predominantly Cantonese style) and you will be OK. The food was pretty good, if a little mild for those used to good Asian food. The restaurant is huge, and has a 1980s "Chinese Dynasty" feel to it. Good service. If you need some spice in Nieuwegein and can't be bothered to make it out to Utrecht, go here. It's not an obvious choice - but it will do the job.
Note that they don't serve tap water (expensive bottled water only), and that if you ask for an extra chilli on the side for added spice, you will be charged EURO 3.

We had lunch here in September 2016.
It is a beautiful location although it was a little tricky to find as it wasn't that well signposted.
We had the surprise 3 course lunch option. Every course was beautifully presented, with exceptional flavours. The matching wines were really well chosen too.
Highly recommend.

This restaurant is located between IJsselstein and Montfoort just next to de IJssel river. The river is a small rivier being used for recreation. Rivers/Marnemoende is the central building of a small harbour being used by recreation ships. It has two stories, one is a fine dining restaurant on the top floor. The other one is a summer time Terrace with only outdoor Seating next to the water where boats dock to come and have a drink, lunch or diner (both of them more bar-style menu's). The menu's of both locations are different. The fine dining place offers outdoor Seating on a big balcony. I've eaten several times at the fine restaurant.
The food quality and looks are what one expects from a good fine restaurant. Well balanced portions and interesting combinations. Staff is experienced and offers good advice on wines and menu's. They offer a quick business lunch with three courses which has a changing menu. Definitely a recommendation to visit!

We stayed for two nights. It was a repeat stay, so you're not surprised that we recommend this hotel. It's a little bit complicated to find your room, but it's a nice exercise.
The rooms are a bit old fashioned, but pleasant.
We had twice breakfast, which is very good.
Staff is very pleasant.

This restaurant is situated underneath the old City Hall of IJsselstein which was build in 1560. Modern style combined in and old location gives it a nice cosy atmosphere. A young crew who manage to provide a good quality food experience. You can order food in two portion sizes, this way you can create your own tasting menu which is fun. The menu changes every 3-5 months with a few stayers. Food quality is good with some affordable wines and different beers.
In spring and summer they also have a Terrace where you can have lunch, dinner or just drinks. Uncomplicated nice place to visit!

Having spent 2 weeks in IJsselstein I intended going into multiple restaurants and enjoying a variety of cuisines. Initially I walked past this one as it looked 'pretentious' from the outside.
Late in the first week I noticed the restaurant from the parking square and thought i would try it . Im glad i did . The shnitzel options are extensive and the quality of food was very good. Reasonably priced and clean comfortable surroundings .
I was remembered a few days later and they recalled what I liked to drink and ensured i was well taken care off without being overbearing . As I was on my own for this trip it was nice to find a location where they dont feel the need to come and talk to you incessantly but take good care of you.
Highly recommended for the food and atmosphere.

Very nice sushi bar. Excellent selection of different sushi. Nice interior and friendly staff. Only problem is that the whole ordering process is done from a tablet and that obviously doesn't work properly as we were constantly receiving someone else's orders. Still our orders (the correct ones) arrived quite fast so it wasn't a huge deal. I would suggest though to fix this. Maybe to someone else it would ve very annoying.

The restaurant is lovely and very big, the taste was really good (even though we waited for 1 hour between the starter and the main dish.. Because we were 7..), the waiters are really nice and ery, always caring for you, especially because we were trying to understand each other in English, which wasn't each's native language. We had a great time !

On average the level of restaurant experience in the Netherlands is often below what I call average. Food variations limited, house wine to be avoided ( Although a house wine should represent the house, so maybe it often does ;-) )
Will's is OK. Decent food dishes with some suggestions, some wines choices per glass, which was also OK.
The service was good, but slow. So forget about a fast business lunch, but we that was not the reason for being in town. So, No direct rush.
Parking is paid at the shopping mall parking.
