Madarao Mountain Lodge is a renovated 11 room ski lodge that is an easy 300 meter walk from the slopes at Madarao Mountain Resort. Madarao is a powder-lovers paradise that was rated by Powderhounds web site as being the best value ski resort in Japan. It is close to Myoko Kogen, Shiga Kogen and Nozawa Onsen resort areas.
Stop shopping, and book your stay with Mark and Abbi. This incredibly welcoming couple owns and operates their fantastic inn situated just a one-minute walk from Madarao's powder and wide variety of terrain. They provide everything you need for a relaxing and fun stay, including Abbi's cooking which is hard to beat. The dinner menu covers everything from bar snacks and burgers to sashimi and soba. Breakfast is also tip-top, there's on-site parking, a big drying room, and their cozy dining room that's the center of fun whether you're traveling with family or a big group of friends.

We are located in the Nabekura Kougen Heights in Iiyama City, Nagano. This is a place to relax and enjoy the beautiful nature. This place is located at a 550-meter altitude, and is surrounded by an old and well-preserved beech forest. You can enjoy walking through the forest and other outdoor activities. We have 10 cabins for guests. Each cabin is right next door to the beautiful forest and during winter they are blanketed in heavy snow. There are 3 types of cabin: Western style (western beds), Japanese style (“Tatami” mats and “Kotatsu” heated table in winter time), and a rustic cabin (Japanese “Futon” mattresses). Each cabin has a loft area with Japanese “Futon” mattresses and fully prepared with a wide range of cooking supplies, tableware. A refrigerator and a microwave.
We spent a night in the gorgeous cabins on our snowshoeing tour. They were a delight! Having completed out tour, we are going back for a few days R&R. Will will no doubt hire Yama, their guide for more wonderful hikes here

Quaint lil place, the rooms are on the smaller side, with a loft on the top to fit more people, the ladder is kinda steep but not an issue for skiiers. As with all jap accomms the size is still reasonable and the host is very friendly and helpful There is a toilet in the room but no shower. There is a public bath and osen in the inn, pretty big for the size of the inn. There is a really large dry room at the basement The breakfast was really interesting, you get to "cook" your own meals and the sitting area is huge too

We stayed here as a travelling party of 6 for 6 nights. We were hosted by the most warm and welcoming family of 3, including their adorable 3 year old daughter. The interior isn’t 5 stars but provides a unique and authentic Japanese experience. The owners are the most friendly and accomodating people you could imagine. Tomoson & Hiroson were just beautiful people who did everything they could to make us feel at home for the duration of our stay. The food was something else. Traditional Japanese cuisine, cooked to perfection. Cooked by Tomoson personally, both for breakfast & dinner. Photos included highlight how extraordinarily good it was. They provided free shuttles to and from the Ski resort each day, as well as to dinner should we choose to eat out. Could not reccommend this little family hotel more. 10/10 perfection.

"Shikisai no yado Konoe" is in the countryside, far from towns in Northern Shinshu "Iiyama Togari Onsen". You can enjoy natural hot springs(Onsen) and our home made meals such as Koshihikari rice cooked in natural spring water,Soba(Hand made backwheat noodle with locally produced flour, home grown vegetable seasonal. Please refresh yourself at "Kanoe" in the relaxing country environment.
We arrived here, still jet-lagged and after a tough walk. In the countryside, surrounded by rice fields, it's a real haven, with extremely friendly hosts, a large room, comfy futon and a great little Onsen. The food is very good, and the service great. A real highlight of our short stay.

Alpbach will not disappoint - everyone from the owners to other guests will make you feel like family.
We stayed for 6 nights in February and it was fabulous. Naoko is a fantastic host and made us feel very welcome. Service was exceptional and we loved everything about our stay at AlpBach. Breakfast was amazing and it was so nice to have a beautiful meal served as opposed to buffet in many other places. The evening meal was a superb 3 course meal and there was a lovely selection of wines available to purchase. The lounge area is beautiful and has a lovely relaxing atmosphere around the fire. The lodge is well located with only a very short walk (2 mins) to the ski slope where you can ski down to catch the lift. In the afternoon you can ski very close and then just a short walk back to the lodge. Wifi is free and very fast. We chose this place on the reviews and they were spot on. Highly recommended.

My wife and I stayed here in April 2018. This historic inn was built 131 years ago to host travelling sales people during the Meiji era. The owners are very gratious the included Japanese style breakfast was delicious. Would highly recommend for a rustic, historic experience.

We visited Hunter's Gate back in February for a ski weekend with a large group of friends. The owners were extremely accommodating and attentive, from the moment we booked with them through our departure. The house is huge with ample space for our large group to spread out and was quite warm even in the winter. We loved the near ski in/ski out location - just a short walk and we were on the slopes, which was great with kids. It's a a fantastic family accommodation too. There's a big field right next to the house where our kids had a blast making snowmen and having snowball fights. If we're ever in the area again we'd love to stay here again for sure!
