If you're in Orofino, this restaurant's setting cannot be beat. Their patio is right over the beautiful Clearwater River, making for a particularly picturesque place for dinner.Unfortunately, the night we dined there, the service was terrible. There was some initial confusion as to which waitress was to serve our table and things went downhill from there. We waited for water. We waited to order drinks-and then waited for them to arrive. We waited for menus. We waited for someone to take our order. We waited for our entrees. We waited for our bill, finally walking inside to find our waitress so we could get it.Over 2-1/2 hours for dinner--plus the constant aggravation of no one paying attention to us.By the way, the restaurant was not busy on the night we dined there so I'm not sure what the issue was.

We stopped here for breakfast early one morning passing through Orofino. It's a rustic old cafe, nicely decorated with fishing gear, and one waitress who did it all. She kept us supplied with coffee, cooked a great breakfast, and washed dishes all at the same time. Great place

This place has the capacity to be exceptional, but somehow, not the will. I'm quite accustomed to local places and laid back attitudes and styles, but I can't help wanting someone to whip this place into shape every time I visit, beginning with a spit and polish and adding some lighting, and firing up the staff just a bit, and maybe just doing a little refining. It's close...but not quite there. The place is old but you can still see the charm and care that went into the last renovation, probably in the '90's. There are comfortable booths or tables with chairs on casters, easy to get in and out of. Also counter service with stools. The food is good, basic fare, on the generous side, the menu large. We are particularly fond of Sunday brunch here with the prime rib buffet; it's a real bargain! The cornflake crunch French toast was interesting and different, and I like that and would order it again. Broasted chicken is good. Really like the country green beans, and wish they did more country vegetables. Meatloaf, homemade mac & cheese, sweet potatoes would be great menu additions. Great macaroni and pea salad on the salad bar - some of the best I've had, but the slaw is totally blah. Wish the beets were pickled instead of plain, and just a little variation in salad bar items might keep interest up. Good toppings. Didn't care for the alfredo pasta. Burger is okay. Had some good soups/rolls here, too. Service can be a little too casual; I prefer just a little more awareness and attention from my server, but folks are pleasant, we know what to expect and we like supporting local businesses.

It's been awhile since I was through Orofino (50 miles from Lewiston) but I can only hope this little pink, right next to the highway, tiny little bowling alley coffee shop is still serving the best hamburgers that I have ever had. Large, juicy, seared just right pattys, big fresh buns, gourmet chili and all the usual fixin's. No, I don't have any connection with them other than as a patron. Also, I hasten to add, I don't bowl! And the irony is that unless you are a local, in the area for fishing or hunting, or just traveling on Hwy 12 and just happen to stop you would never know. Life is like that.
Family owned, and family friendly, casual sit down restaurant. We offer a variety of food unlike most others in town. BBQ, burgers, salads, sandwiches, entree's. We offer alcohol as well, draft beer, We are open Tuesday- Saturday 11am-9pm.
Been there as a couple for dinner twice and with friends for lunch. I had halibut fish and salad (rather than fries) each time as it is so good. My husband and my friends were equally pleased with their choices. It is a family friendly, casual restaurant with great service.. I look forward to going back again. At last a restaurant that so far has consistently good food and service. Closed Sun and Mon..
