I met some local friends here for a reunion lunch on a Sunday. All I was told was that it was a yakitori restaurant which I like. The restaurant doesn't yet have a website as it's only been open for two months but it was easy enough to find using their Facebook page. I arrived with my partner before the rest of the group. As with all the best restaurants in Japan this isn't the sort of place you'd stumble upon. You can't even see it from the street. We walked up two flights of stairs and entered. As expected it was a small place - with no more than ten seats at a counter - and a further 6 or so in a row at the end of the counter. We had a warm welcome from the chef owner and his assistant. They told us it was French yakitori fusion. There were two set menus, both written in Japanese. Muddling my way through I tried working out what was coming our way but I gave up. Japanese friends arrived and six of us took up most of the main counter. We had the first of the two sets and food immediately started coming in. The food was great. We were served a range of dishes, 6 or 7 courses, ranging from Japanese wafers filled with foie gras and pineapple jam to more traditional yakitori sticks. In addition to this the place has a great range of wines and sakes. I mentioned that I wanted to try the sake and there was a menu option to taste three different types. I think the owner was rather excited by my enthusiasm and I ended up being served 7 different types in all. I was given an explanation of each one, ranging from sweet sparkling to dry types. It was excellent. I've never actually tasted such a variety of sake flavours before. We only had Sunday lunch here but the quality of food was impeccable, the service was top class and we had a great dining experience.

Been to the sister store in Koshien but they are closed on Tuesdays. This place is open everyday. The food is fresh, nicely seasoned, fried right in front of you. Get to eat it with three different types of salts or dashi. Add a salad, soup and dessert and you get a great meal. There are lots of different tempura spots but this place is consistent. Shrimp is always fresh, the eel is done right, the vegetables are all seasonal and very fresh. There is always a different Japanese local vegetables that I rarely get to try. It makes eating here a pleasure. There are three parking spots right in front of the restaurant.

This restaurant specializing in noodles made only from buckwheat flour has been awarded a Michelin star. They serve the highest quality soba noodle dishes priced from 1000 yen to 1600 yen. I also enjoyed a settled Japanese style atmosphere, and the view of lovely garden from our table.
