Find out what Asian restaurants to try in Kobe. Famous for its luscious beef and crisp, pure sake, the Japanese port of Kobe is a thriving metropolitan city with an international feel. The sake-brewing season runs from October through April, and that's the best time to take a tour of a kura (the Japanese word for brewery). Visit the Hakutsure Sake Brewery Museum year-round. Naturally, the nightlife here is prime perfection.

Went there specifically to try out the Kobe beef, we left unimpressed. Each customer has to order something. We try their set lunch. Beef is quite a good portion, I must admit. Got the more expensive ones. Beef was nice but the whole experience was quite.... (fill in the blank) . Cook was just there to cook, very minimal interaction with customers. Did not really find it impressive.

We went for lunch and selected their A4 set meal - personal preference we prefer A4 with slightly more meat taste while still having the wagyu tenderness. Go for the fried rice too! The set definitely gets you full. Everything was well cooked and seasoned! Recommend also a la carte cuttlefish - delicious and good portion. Staff speaks sone English.

Visited this restaurant for their reasonable lunch sets and was absolutely amazed at the quality of the food here. We ordered both the Marbled Kobe Beef Round Steak Lunch Course (80g) and the Selected Kobe Beef Round Steak Lunch Course (80g). The soup, salad and vegetables that came with the set were really delicious, but of course we came for the beef. We were not disappointed at all - the Marbled set especially had a melt-in-your-mouth texture and a taste that went really well with the salt/ponzu/garlic provided. The prices for the Marbled Kobe Beef set and Selected Kobe Beef set were 5200 yen and 3900 yen respectively which is really reasonable for the quality and spectacular service they delivered. For dessert and hors dâoeuvres to be included in the set, it would cost 1000 yen more. The location is convenient as well - it is located just a 5-10 minute walk from Sannomiya JR Station. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone coming to Kobe to try their beef.

In a small non descriptive street in Kobe we were recommended by our Japanese business colleagues to dine at this Teppanyaki restaurant to sample the world famous beef.It is a very small restaurant so booking is essential. We sat at the long bar style table and get a full view of the professional chef on how he prepared our dinner.Well what more say that hasn't been said before? The beef was melt in your mouth good and the service was what you came to expect in Japan.Price was on the high side but you get what you paid for. Will be coming back again for sure.

The most amazing Kobe steak experience! Freshly made and very timely too, no waiting about here! The chef is fantastic, very friendly and charismatic and can speak very good English. His 91 year old mother is incredible, she takes over and cooks up the rice, apparently she used to own a restaurant where she was from. Fantastic red wine, a must have! And the chef also happens to be a sommelier. I definitely definitely recommend!

One of the best culinary experiences Iâve had in Japan. Coming to Kobe, naturally I wanted to have the most authentic Kobe beef, and this restaurantâs quality was beyond my expectations. I got the A5 Kobe beef tenderloin, and the marbling on it was nothing less than beautiful. The whole dinner set was just the right amount of food, with the beef playing the main character but not taking all the spotlight. Various kinds of vegetables, the salad, appetisers and dessert were also delicious and memorable. Highly recommended if youâre in Kobe and looking for the best.

What an amazing experience!! Small place, only ten seats, we sat by the counter and interacted with the chef. The food was THE BEST beef weâve ever had and even my vegetarian daughter loved it! The atmosphere was very intimate and the chef came out to take some photos with us. When in Kobe, DO NOT MISS this restaurant!! Great value for money and an experience youâll never forget!

Decorated with the stones and woody walls, the restaurant has a delightful air to have a grilled steak cooked in front of you. "Happy comfortableness for the customers who visit the restaurant for the first time, and veritable contentment for the customer
A brilliant spot for a treat and some excellent steak. Our 'personal' chef was great and talked us through what he was doing and some of the more unusual (to us!) vegetables. The restaurant accommodated my gluten allergy with no issues - although I had to miss out a few bits and pieces it was still a fantastic meal. We walked in but would recommend booking in advance if possible.

Had a wonderful lunch with my husband and family at steak Aoyama in Kobe. We travelled to Kobe from Osaka for the day. Make sure you make a booking online well in advance via Facebook messenger as they are usually booked out. The family who owned the restaurant turned away so many people while we were there. They are very popular so reservations only. Make sure that you come in early as they can only hold your reservations for a few minutes. Each seating can accomodate only around 7-8 people. They have 4 seatings per day, 2 for lunch and 2 for dinner. The wonderful chef and service staff all come from the same family. They are all very lovely and very welcoming. The chef was both entertaining and super funny. The Kobe beef was to die for, so tender and melts in your mouth. The older chef cameover after our lunch and gave us a postcard with all the photos heâs taken around japan along with a map. Photography is his hobby he says. Itâs a must do experience in Kobe! We felt very special and honoured to have this great experience. Itâs like being welcomed into their home.
