Every year when on summer holiday in Balatonföldvár, visiting Public restaurant is a must. The best dish is definitely sirloin steak with fried onions. We can never miss it. The place is in the center of the town near lake Balaton. There are large TV-screen where you can follow different sports events. You can also drop in for a coffee or tea in the morning but please note that there is no food. They only serve food from lunch time.Service / staff is correct and the place is cosy.

We have visited this restaurant every time weâve been to Balatonföldvár for years. This year has been a disappointment. And this is based on multiple visits in the past few days. The food is still good. The service on the other hand is exceptionally terrible. The waiters donât know the menu. They are quite happy standing around leaning against the wall instead of taking orders or clearing tables. Unfortunately I think itâs time to find a new favorite restaurant in Balatonföldvár.

Great place to escape the sub par holiday tourist cafeteria style place near the lake. We felt like a wholesome meal and were pleasantly surprised to get great tasting selection of local cuisine. We had house special, and fish dishes. Recommend the beef goulash. Great coffee and friendly fast service!

We were here for late dinner in May 2018, so the main season was just at the beginning. Not many people in any of the restaurants in Tihany. We have ordered two chicken salads, glass of wine and wheat beer called Edelweis. We get small pizza thingies aside the salads. They were really good, so we wanted to order another portion of them. Waitress said it is not possible. Well, ok, no problem.. though I would think you can be little creative if guest asks for something you don´t have on the menu... Another problem was when we ordered another pair of drinks. Waitress brought us normal Soproni beer in Edelweiss glass. My friend said it is not Edelweiss, waitress said "Oh my god" and rolled her eyes. OK, sorry for being so rude to be a guest who knows the difference between beer and beer :/ She brought the right beer and since that moment no one came to our table to ask if we want to order anything else. Only when I wanted to pay, another waitress came.It was really bad experience. I know the season is just beginning, you do not have many guests, which may made you a bit nervous, but ... hey, your guests are bringing your salary in their wallet.

Very busy restaurant, with some of the best food I've eaten in Hungary. They've both hungarian cuisine and international dishes. Prices are very fair, and the food tastes super. On occasion you'll have to wait a while for your order, and it may end up a bit mixed up, but customers return for a reason, as did we: There simply is no better place to eat. Take out and doggy bags are normal occurrences here. Starter and main course is just to much, adding dessert would've been crazy.

You can find modern dishes as well as traditional Hungarian ones. Every portion is great, nicely presented and very good.Try the cold fruit soup, itâs not sweet and creamy, very refreshing. The potatoe rosti filled with Camembert was excellent. The pasta with cottage cheese is how itâs done traditionally, with bacon and baked in the oven.

KUKORICA CSÃRDA IN BALATONFÃLDVÃR is a traditional hospitable place for guests by the Lake Balaton with great history. It is a thatched restaurant built in the old style so it can bring back guests to 19th century circumstances. Hungarian and internationa
We went to have a nice dinner in the Corn restaurant , but unfortunately the whall dinner was a shamble . Firstly I ordered a soft drink which was absolutely warm , I complained straight away, after they braught a small ice bucket . We ordered 2 fish soups 1 trout with almond and 1 Hungarian chicken soup , the fish soups and the trout was served with out any bone plate . During the dinner nobody checked back if everything was ok ? The chicken soup was a 400 ml. âLargeâ soup , we only found 4 pieces of chicken incide prox 1 ( one gramm all) . After main course I hade to find a waiter to clear the table . Than we ordered dessert . The dessert was one somloi nockel , 2 chestnut purée and one ice cream . By the middle of our dessert , one of the waitress turned up to clear everything included the last glass is well . That was the time when I complainedand said that she should never remove the last glasses from the table . Than she replied that is normal , itâs maybe normal for her but not where I was in the past in the restaurant business the last glasses all ways remaining ! Itâs weryunprofeccional to remove it.I ordered the bill and 1 last espresso . The female blonde headwaiter who braught me the bill was very arrogant she would not taking account any of my complain regards of the unprofessional service and lack of chicken in the soup , nevertheless the bone plate and the warm soft drink , pluss that nobody checked back the food . When I tried to tell her she was interrupted me and wouldnât listen she replied that itâs not a big dill .Because she wouldnât listen to me and was so arrogant , I questioned her how dare she is talking to me like that arrogantly , and I also said that I would never recommend this place to anybody .Her answer was to snatch my bill and grab it and saying in that case you donât need to pay . First of all I didnât go there for charity , more over as a caterer it was a shame to see all this mistakes on mistakes with out proper control . I really hade a bad experience there and I wouldnât recommend it to anybody .They need a lots of training , I saw a bonch of waiters in the group talking to each other instead of doing there job . Whatâs gong on in the (Kukprica Csárda) ???? Please please please learn some manners and service , itâs essential before they approaching any table in the restaurant .

The buffet is situated in the harbour of Balatonföldvár together with other buffets. The gyros plate is the best. Sometimes there are a lot of people so it is difficult to find a table and you have to wait for your food but it is worth it!

Nice place i know this for years. My feeling is that the card have been reduced.Food is a very good quality and very tasty. Kind of modern interpretation for Hungarian food.Staff very friendly.Prices are for west europe ok, but not cheap. For hungarians to expensive, therefore no locals....
