We really enjoyed the quality of the food, very fresh. Many things to pick from being a pizza restaurant, even things from the grill. Was a bit skimpy on the toppings.

We decided to meet our good friends there and the food was excellent it's a quaint little Resturant with specialty sandwich and desserts it soon filled up and not to much seating but food was great.

Driving through town wife saw DQ and wanted a blizzard. I had chicken strips. After about 10 minutes the manager came and ask if we were waiting for anything. I said our food. Another ten minutes and they ask again. Couple of minutes later two cold orders came. Not impressed.

Had a gift certificate to eat here. We both got the combo platters. 15.95 each. You can take leftovers home. Comes with 3 ribs, choice of 2 more meats and 2 sides, plus texas toast. I had turkey(1/4 C) and pork loin (3 pcs). Hubby had burnt ends and chicken-leg and thigh. Ribs ok, I think Al Fisher's still beats Vinny's. We eat here a few times a year, as it is 25 miles away.

We were looking for a place to have lunch and we found this drive-in diner. The inside was clean and had a 50's decor. The staff was friendly. The menu had a number of classic home style dishes. Breakfast, sandwiches, entrees, and a number of dessert items(shakes, malts and sundaes) Sometimes you can be leery about places that state "home cooked meals", but not this place. The hand breaded pork tenderloin with sausage gravy was right on. The pulled beef french dip was also the goods. We had malts to go and they were some of the best. Service was also very good. Bathroom was spotless. We will stop there again when passing thru.

We stopped in Miller's Landing for lunch while we were out visiting wineries and breweries. This is a nice family restaurant. The food is good and the service was decent. The servings are plenty big. Nothing outstanding but nothing was bad, either.
Would I go back. Maybe but probably not. Nothing I feel I need to go back for.

This is a small, but comfortable place located close to the future site of the new Americinn hotel in Humboldt. The food is basic midwestern comfort food done right. All the must haves are there: pork tenderloin, cheese curds, fried mushrooms, Reuben sandwiches, cheese soup, you name it. The service is fast and friendly and the prices are so low that I thought there must be a mistake on our bill at first. The fireplace in the winter adds a nice comfortable touch to the place. Will be back!

It's easy to say that Chang's has the best Chinese food in town... the only other place to give them a run for their money is Hy-Vee! This is NOT a Chinese buffet - you order off a menu.
The food at Chang's is pretty typical Chinese fare, with nothing really outstanding, but nothing awful, either. The portion sizes are modest. You may also have to get the server's attention for things like sauces or drink refills. They don't have a children's menu, so be prepared to split a meal between two small kids, or take home extra from a single child.

Backseat Diner is kitchy, in that there's old timey decorations and an encouragement for vintage cars to come for lunch. The menu consists of standard breakfast fare, sandwiches, wraps, burgers, salads and a handful of entrees. Their food is inconsistent - sometimes it's great, sometimes it's inedible. They seem to do well with breakfast items, but lunch/dinner fare often escapes them. I've had meals arrive with long hairs on them, and mashed potatoes with unidentified scary brown bits (that are not potato skins!) throughout... at least, when they mess up, they usually try to make it up to you... if you're willing to wait AGAIN for your food.
The biggest problem we've had with Backseat Diner is the S-L-O-W service. It takes forever to get your food! Even when there isn't anyone else in the diner, it seems to take a very long time. I've been tempted to jump into the kitchen just to get things moving along.
If you make it through dinner, there are a nice selection of ice cream treats waiting for you. I really like their milkshakes - they seem to be made from scratch. So, go to the Backseat Diner if you wanna roll the dice and have a lot of time to spare.

I was staying in Humboldt while waiting to close on my house, living out of a hotel, so I ate at Back Street Diner several times, both with and without my family. I feel as though I've sampled it enough to provide a summary.
BREAKFAST: On the weekends, this is the place to go for breakfast - but you might have to wait in line because the service is so slow. They have delicious omelets and pancakes.
LUNCH: Their burgers are pretty good. I like the mushroom/Swiss/bacon burger. Their waffle fries are pretty good, too.
DINNER: I've had mixed experiences with dinner. The meatloaf arrived coated in ketchup, which wasn't enough to mask the pervasive flavor of liver (or it might have been slightly rancid). The mashed potatoes had curious crunchy brown clumps - so I sent them back to the kitchen to get fresher potatoes. On other nights, I've just ordered a burger - which were pretty good.
Around St Patrick's Day, my husband ordered the "Irish stew" - which he said mimicked Hormel canned soup - so he was disappointed.
CHILDREN'S MENU: The Back Street Diner presents most of the usual children's meal choices - chicken tenders, cheeseburger, hot dog, etc. But if your child stops eating the chicken tenders, check them yourself to see if they are so overcooked that the ends have become rock-hard inedible nuggets. They offer two drink/ice cream choices: a small root beer with a vanilla cone at the end of the meal, or a mini-milkshake (chocolate, vanilla or strawberry). Every so often, they run children's specials like "pay what you weigh" - which are kind of fun. However, there is nothing to keep smaller children busy - like coloring pages and crayons.
DECOR: The décor is centered around 1950's diner/drive-in memorabilia, but it seems sparse. They have scratchy or completely malfunctioning telephones at each table that you're supposed to use to place your order. Inevitably, they end up just sending a waitress out to record it because they can't hear you. There's a counter to the immediate right of the door - with barely enough space to walk past the stools (probably a fire evacuation hazard) - so if you're by yourself, you don't have to take up a whole table. Outside, there are drive-up carports.
RESPONSE TO FEEDBACK: The staff responded well to negative feedback. My crunchy mashed potatoes were replaced without question. A dirty fork was replaced quickly. They seem to accept the slow kitchen service and don't apologize for it. I guess I just feel like I have to double-check everything - my food, my daughter's food - to make sure it's cooked and presented cleanly and safely.
MANAGEMENT: On Easter Sunday, the sign out front proudly read, "OPEN SUNDAY 7AM to 3PM" but they were closed. Just sayin'.
On the busy weekend mornings, you can hear two older women bantering back and forth with the kitchen, trying to get orders out to customers, changing orders, etc. It seems completely chaotic.
I used my American Express five times, since I was on a business trip and AmEx is preferred by my company. On the sixth visit, a woman whom I can only guess is the owner or manager screeched that she doesn't participate with AmEx, and she won't get paid if I use it. I explained that I had used it several times already; she repeated that she wouldn't get paid, she doesn't want to pay their service fees, bla-bla-bla. I don't understand how her credit card machine could process my AmEx without some sort of agreement. However, after that unprofessional rant coupled with the compelling need to investigate any dish placed in front of one of my family members, I suspended my trips to Back Street Diner.
CONCLUSION: I'm on the edge about Back Street Diner. The breakfasts are pretty good, but you have to beat the crowd and be patient. The burgers are good, but there are equal or better burgers in town (go to the Beach House Bar). I now understand why there is no lunch or dinner rush - because the entrees just aren't very good. It's too bad - this place has a lot of potential.
