From the moment we walked in we were impressed. The atmosphere was welcoming, the staff cordial, and the menu offered a great selection. We found this through Trip Advisor so you can believe it is really good. Our recommendations are: Mescaline w Gorgonzola and Walnuts, Fried Calamari, Linguini DeMare, Veal Piccata, and Sole. They have a Pizza oven which we would have loved to try - their selections were great. Best experience in Jamaica and Howard Beach NYC.

I'm in town often on business. This restaurant will take you on a dining experience like few do. From the family style and generous portions to the wait staff and the atmosphere. But most especially the quality of the food prepared.
I was encouraged to have the Veal Parmigiana and it was nothing short of spectacular. My friend had the Breast of Chicken in Lemon and Butter. Each dish was beyond expectation. The bread for the table was most excellent and they make their own table wine on site. It was a joy to speak with the owner for about 15 minutes to learn some great history of the restaurant and the many famous people who have dined there.
After enjoying the amazing food it was a must to have a cappuccino and a cannoli. I have had many a cannoli in my life. Few were exceptional, these were exceptional. The proper shell and a filling not to sweet or too creamy. To die for honestly.

Sugar Bun makes the best boston cream donuts I have ever eaten. OMG, they are out of this world!!!!! I can't say it enough how delicious they are and would recommend anyone to go have one.......that's if I don't beat you to it. Honestly, this is a great little place to go for breakfast or lunch as well. The cakes and extras are amazing, but I do have to say that I enjoy having breakfast or lunch there. You do have to try a boston cream donut though..........if you do, nothing else will ever satisfy your craving for one!

Treat yourself! Dining at Zum's is an experience. For starters, the goulash soup is amazing. The German salad consisting of beets, onions, carrots, coleslaw and cucumber salad is the best. The wurst platter, with German potato salad...awesome! There are no words for the jaggerschnitzel. Thank you, Aurora for your wonderful service! Prosit

This looks like a typical bagel shop but their salads and sandwich combinations are excellent. They must have at least a dozen varieties of chicken and tuna salads such as cranberry, curry, Thai, Italian, etc. I love their Potato knish pastrami sandwich. The Ruben is good and they also have made to order salad bowls. Their macaroni salad is one of the best I have had. I also love their whitefish salad on a bagel.

My first time back since before Hurricane Sandy, which devastated Howard Beach and Cross Bay Boulevard especially. Walking inside is taking a step back in time, to when going to the bakery was a promise of sweet delights and not a reminder of forbidden pleasures. Display cases feature Italian cookies of every type imaginable; others feature cannoli (yum; my favorite) and other Italian pastries and cakes. We arrived after 7, about half an hour before closing time on Sunday. The youngsters behind the counter were helpful and friendly. The owner came in near closing, and I chatted with him for a few minutes. His family has owned the Pasticceria for 30 years, he told us, with obvious pride. Howard Beach is one of my favorite neighborhoods in NYC, and even just for an Italian pastry, it is worth taking the trip. I highly recommend it.

Went to The Door with my mother. I had a Wonderful authentic Jamacian meal of seafood soup and goat curry. My mom had the steamed snapper. Service was attentive and timely. I highly recommend this gem of a restaurant. Only downside was a strong musty smell in the dining area.

We had an excellent dinner at this restaurant in the Hilton Hotel the night before a vacation flight out from JFK. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious. We were staying next door at the Hampton Inn, and could conveniently...MoreThank you for your kind words. We really appreciate you for taking the time to compliment our staff and food. They will be happy to hear the great job they are doing. Hope to see you soon!

Aldo's has been around for years. The original Aldo's was on 76th Street and 101st Avenue and moved back in the 90's I believe, to this spot on Crossbay Boulevard. The pizza at Aldo's is good. Both the regular Neopolitan slices and Sicilian slices are good. Stay away from the Meatball Heroes. Terrible and flavorless. Aldo is near retirement age and is looking to sell his business. he has to be close to 80 years old.
