My wife and I called for an early evening meal and we couldnât have been more impressed. Everything from the friendly welcome , the service and the selection and quality of the food were excellent. One small tip : try & avoid table next to the rear door which gets a lot of use. We wouldnât hesitate to recommend the Fox & Hounds and will certainly be returning very soon. Give it a try

Daisyâs Tea Room is situated within Serendipity Antiques Centre, 295 Fleet Road, Fleet. Serendipity opened its doors in May 2012 and is now a thriving independent business within Fleet. With an excellent reputation as a friendly, welcoming Antiques Centre
Spur of the moment lunch at Daisyâs. Have eaten here before, and have always enjoyed it - wasnât disappointed with this visit either!Exceptionally good sandwiches made to order - lots of choice but always wonderfully made. But the real star were the cakes - freshly made everyday, with super taste and choice. The gluten free apricot and almond and the chocolate and mint cakes were amazing!Small in size (about 10 tables) but large on hospitality and quality - you wonât be disappointed at all. You have to walk through the wonderfully eclectic serendipity shop to get to Daisyâs - just make sure you donât get distracted by the knickknacks and miss the food! Thank you for taking to time to write - what a wonderful review! We get lots of new customers who decide to visit having read Trip Adviser reviews, it is so helpful to both our business and customers alike. Iâm pleased you enjoyed your lunch with us and look forward to welcoming you and your wife again very soon. Best wishes Jane

Set on the oldest continually played upon cricket green in the world, this delightfully traditional English pub offers delicious homemade food and fine real ales. It is dog and child friendly and also boasts a cosy beer garden for summer use or open fires
Pros; Lovely village setting, nice décor, the food looked good (but we only had drinks so can't comment beyond that)Cons; the position of the pub's building means that most of the outdoor seating did not have the views I'd expected given its location.Limited choice of non-alcoholic drinks compared to most pubs.A plastic straw was put in my cranberry juice without asking if I wanted one or not. (Disappointing eco-awareness given the current campaigns to reduce single-use plastic waste)Hi there, While we thank you for your comment we would also like to tell you a few things about this wonderful pub that so many people enjoy. The Cricket Green is 250 years old next year and one of the oldest pitches in the Uk.Unfortunately we have 1000 people coming Friday 28th June for the once a year charity match between Hampshire County Cricket team and Hartley Wintney so we have hospitality tents around the whole ground for all the lovely people attending. So views are a little blocked as you can imagine. We serve a full range of non alcoholic drinks, from juices, soft drinks, beer, gin & cider. In regards to the straws. We do have paper straws for short drinks and used to stock paper long straws but our patrons found them going soggy so we switched back. We apologise for our staff member not asking you about the straw, maybe they were being to forward. The food here is amazing please feel free to read out reviews and we take so much pride in quality and service with a smile We are a pub and we do have limited space for some products but we do service all out cliental extremely well thatâs why we keep seeing so many new faces with smiles on.If you are popping by again please ask for the manager so we can look after you personally. We canât change the views which are stunning as this building was built 300 years ago along with the Cricket Pitch.

16 family members, 4 generations, came to celebrate a 90th Birthday. Between us we chose a wide range from the menu, from a Panini to Roast dinners. Everyone commented on how good the meals were. In fact, excellent with service to match. Unique venue, lovely café/restaurant and attractive pricing. Fantastic formula, we'll be back.

Set in 35 acres of rolling Hampshire countryside, The Elvethem Hotels restaurant offers an idyllic setting for the perfect meal. Mentioned in the Domesday Book, the houses bright, sunny conservatory invites locals and visitors alike to take in the beautif
Stayed here for two nights on business, really gorgeous grounds, gardens, and building. Wonderful food and service in the restaurant. The room was exceptionally clean (I have a chronic dust allergy so I'd know if it wasn't!) and the bed was very comfortable. The staff on reception, the restaurant, and housekeeping were incredibly helpful. The room service was fast and the food was hot and tasty. The only criticism was the room I was in was right above the bar and a rowdy crowd kept me awake until 2am on the first night. Also the bathroom needed a refurb it looked quite tired. I would definitely stay here again for pleasure and take time to look around more.

We visited the Leather Bottle after hearing good reviews but unfortunately it did not live up to expectations. On arrival the table was not ready which is no major concern as had drinks in the bar, the Prosecco was flat so had to resend it which wasnât a great start. It appears to many corners are being cut with both the food and staff.During each course the main hero of the dish was good but the accompaniments were lacking, the scallops were good but bacon tough and chewy and the dish like warm, the steak dishes had great steaks but over cooked oven chips and the hot waffle isnât hot! Staff were less than attentive with empty plates sat on the table for well over thirty minutes and difficult to try and find some one for a drink at the table with all of our parties drinks empty throughout the starters. The house white wine tasted as if it could have been nice if cold, mine was sent back as Luke warm and the replacement glass was no better, it was the same temperature as the house red. With so many good places to eat locally a great disappointment.

The Queens Head has to be my favoured local restaurant, being about 100 metres from my front door. However, about 3 years ago, I had 3-4 consecutive bad experiences (cold food [not salad], wrong dishes delivered and lousy service). I stopped visiting and moved my preference down the road.About three months my circumstances changed meaning that I would eat out every evening. I chose to return to the Queens Head and do not regret the decision one tiny little bit. The new landlord and his staff are a different breed. They are very keen to please and work extremely hard at busy times. The food and selection has also improved immensely. For example Mussels and Scallops are now regularly available and very well cooked/prepared.So all in all I am able to thoroughly recommend this quaint Pub.

Having parked our bikes right outside, we had an excellent lunch on the very spacious patio at the back. The patio is covered with an awning which makes dining outside possible even when raining. Super service from our waiter and the chef came out to ask if my gluten-free adapted meal was alright for me. Well filled chicken and bacon sandwich with home-made potato crisps was delicious I was told, and the fish and chips were also very good. Relaxed atmosphere. Recommend a visit.

The Phoenix is a historic and magnificent building in a prime location, with a large car park and a beautiful, peaceful garden. The food is simple, fresh, as much as possible local. Andrew Ryder, chef proprietor is passionate about provenance and seasonal
Last minute spot of lunch today. Absolutely lovely. Staff are lovely and the owner head chef popped over a couple of times to ask how everything was. Great salmon and lovely fillet steak all washed down with a lovely Chilean Sauvignon Blanc and a cheeky Prosecco .Fabulous

Four of us arrived for lunch on Sunday, my Wife and I had the fish and chips, which was very large, well cooked with nice crispy chips, peas and salad, another of our party had the roast lamb, which she was very pleased with, and the other member of our group had a pizza, which he really enjoyed. The garden is nice to sit in with views across the fields, whilst the interior of the pub is old quaint country pub style, and was quite busy inside. The staff were very polite and attentive. My only criticism, is that the outside area could have done with a tidy, the block paved area had weeds coming up through them.
