Bistro De Pimpernel opened its doors back in 1985. Over the years, the restaurant has grown into a true concept in Hoofddorp and the surrounding area, under the careful management of Raymond and Tanja Ruijg. The bistro is an informal French specialities restaurant with a menu which changes with the seasons. The restaurant also boasts a very extensive wine list. De Pimpernel is open every day from 17.00 pm except Sundays.
The first time we dined at Pimpernel, Raymond warned us against ordering too much. Boy, was he right!! From the amazing soups and appetizers through main courses prepared with nothing but the freshest ingredients and incredible skill to desserts which should be illegal, Pimpernel is a superb restaurant. Not at all stuffy, and almost luke duning in the home of a friend, I encourage anyone who wants a special treat to dine here.
Went twice, and left on both occasions eager to return.

Ordered spanish tapas as a starter really good especially the sausage and the ham. The choice of cheese could have been a little bit more tasty though. The tournedos as Main course was a great choice. Cooked exactly as i desired. Everything with a nice red wine (cabernet sauvignon). Service was great although i expect that the 1st glass of wine should be served.

When we arrived only three tables were occupied. But we had to ask for the wine list and menus. The wine arrived, but it then took a long time for our order to be taken. We were amazed to see everyone who came in after us, have their order taken while we waited......and waited.
Order finally taken, it then took quite a while for our starters.....and then a long while for our mains. We had to ask if our order had gone through into the kitchen.
We occupied our time watching as every table around us was fed, even those arriving after us. They all beat us to starters and then to mains.
We were not in any hurry, but being ignored is not acceptable.
The food, when it did eventually arrive was disappointing and bland.
Never again!

We had a very pleasant dinner in this Lebanese restaurant.
Reservation was smooth, reception gentle.
Typical Lebanese dishes, very tasteful.
The veal medallions were excellent, my partner took the mixed grill. The later was a large amount of different meat BBQed on the spot. Do not expect a lot of vegetables.
The service was swift and excellent.
The waiters polite and attentive.
Not cheap.

Been in The Netherlands countless times and finally found this gem. Homemade bread. Awesome traditional Italian starters. The real jewel in the crown is their beef. Been in Italy many times and Buoni Amici has the best tagliata we have had anywhere.

Delicious Food. There's a good choice of Indonesian food. The restaurant itself is simple, but most people order a takeaway meal. Staff is friendly and helpfull, but sometimes you have to wait a few minutes, because there's a queue.

WOODSTONE Pizza and Wine is a hip and stylish take on the gourmet pizza restaurant. The menu offers an enormous variety of pizza, pasta and salads, all with unexpected but delicious combinations and all made with fresh ingredients from the open kitchen. All types of diet are catered for including vegetarian, low-calorie and gluten free. WOODSTONE is open for lunch and dinner 7 days per week.
I must confess, seeing such a high ranking for this restaurant is surprising and confusing, maybe even suspicious. Service is slow, food is fast, and of industrial grade. A frozen pizza from the nearby supermarket will do a better job. Sorry, but I cannot recommend this place.

The prospects aren't usually very good for finding a decent meal while staying at an airport hotel, but Deb Burgh was a diamond in the rough. The atmosphere was both modern and relaxing, with an open kitchen at one end of the dining room. I had the freekeh and beet appetizer, which was very well done, and the halibut for an entree -- the fish was as good as you'll find anywhere, perfectly seasoned and cooked.
I found the service to be excellent, both attentive and friendly, and the prices to be moderately expensive (25 - 30 Euro for most entrees). I will definitely return next time I'm staying near Schipol.

Papa's Beach House, the cozy beach pavilion in Hoofddorp "Good Times, Great Food." Papa's Beach House is a well-kept secret. This homely, lakeside pavilion is surrounded by woodlands and borders a private beach. Have a drink on our Terrace over the water and celebrate beautiful moments with family and friends. Enjoy the campfire and try our home-brewed Papa's Beer. See you soon at Papa's!
The restaurant is in a beach house that you could imagine Hemingway building if he were building it in the Netherlands and not Key West or Cuba. The setting is on a peaceful pond and we enjoyed watching waterfowl while waiting to eat.
Dinner included several appetizers along with the main course. They are set but I have allergies to some foods and they were very kind in making substitutions and making sure that all the ingredients were things I could safely eat. I really appreciated this.
The food was excellent.
