EVERYONE knows The Meadows original frozen custard. If you haven't been - you need to go. It's been a staple in many lives for years. Duncansville location is the original site. They have franchise locations - but really - you need to go.

For the best Italian food Closest to Piittsburgh, or New York, Come to Finellis Italian Villa. From being greeted by the owner Frank, to the excellent Dishes From chief Anthony, And of course Jeanie's homemade Desserts are to die for. Amy the Bar hostess, waiter and waitress, are 2nd to none around here. You are treated very special from the time you arrive,. everything on the menu is fantastic, you will not have a bad meal. I ordered the chicken parmesan , which is the best that I have eaten anywhere, and we travel alot of different places. My wife had there Filet Mignon which she said melts in your mouth, I've had different meals and they are always good. It's something to see when they bring out Jeanies tray of about 12 different deserts to choose from all are great. So if you want the best in white table cloth original Italian cuisine, come to Finelli"s Italian Villa!!!!

The space is unique and attractive. The food yummy, fresh and inventive. We tried the fruit/yogurt crepe, egg/cheddar crepe & buffalo chicken crepe. All delish!!
The iPad ordering is modern and interesting, but not without issues. The owner would best serve her/his customers by going through every single item on the vast menu to:
See which items are missing a description (crepe perrogi?), when you choose meat on the side there's not an option to say which meat, every item should include a spec request/freeform section, and you'll likely find a few other helpful updates/edits which may improve the ordering experience.
When I asked what the $.75 add on for savory crepe was, the server said she had "no idea", being a cook I was curious since it came up as option for what was already a savory crepe...upon checking w kitchen the server returned saying it meant it was savory not sweet and might have spinach rather than fruit??Think reviewing the menu may help smooth out the wrinkles to what is a cute place with cool food!

In Duncanville on our way to Tioga County, stopped in for lunch because they have the wood brick oven pizza. We enjoyed our Marzonis Special thin crust so much we are it all. Tried their beer flight, brewed on premises, which all were pretty good too. Would definitively stop again.

The desk clerk at our motel recommended this restaurant. On a busy Saturday evening, we were seated immediately. Our waitperson, Tracy, was absolutely delightful. She was warm and welcoming and her recommendations were spot on. The pork roast was so tender, it melted in our mouths. The mashed potatoes were real and so good. The portions were huge and my only regret is that we should have ordered one for the both of us to share so that we could have had room for dessert because they sounded really good.

We were in Altoona needing a small snack. Had heard good things about Meadows from family members. .Meadows did not disappoint. My hot fudge over vanilla soft serve was delicious! Will stop again when in the Altoona area.

Nice place for simple get-together in the bar, or a nice meal in the dining room. There's also a party venue that can be reserved for special events. (The location is rumored to be haunted, and tours are available once in a while.) They have a new chef, so the menu has changed significantly. Many interesting, new selections.

Hoss’s Steak and Sea House is a family restaurant featuring fresh-cut steaks, seafood, and tender chicken entrees…all cooked to order! Enjoy our fresh and wholesome Soup & Salad Bar with homemade soups, just-baked breads, fresh fruits, delicious desserts, and soft-serve ice cream. We feature a fun menu for kids and offer family-style banquets in our comfortable banquet rooms.
Visited on a Thursday night, so the restaurant was not crowded. Service was a little slow. Had the chicken tenders; they resemble giant chicken nuggets. Not bad, but not great. My wife's sirloin tips were cold. The baked potatoes were hot and good.
We went primarily because we wanted the soup and salad bar. The salad bar...no pickled eggs. Other foods looked a little tired. Noticed a server dipping cheese from the taco chip cheese into the macaroni and cheese...guess it was looking dry? The soups were okay.

We were traveling back from vacation and were staying at a hotel nearby. We wanted something different, and had excellent gyros and Greek salad. The people were very friendly and helpful, and the price was right.

This is our "go to" Altoona area place, casual, relaxed, good food, nice staff. Nice place to meet ! Prices good as well. Saturday night, not a good spot for conversation, they have music. Nice beer selection, very reasonable prices 4-5$ for a pint.
