From the beautiful nature surrounding the hotel to the calm and warm staff that will always help you with a smile, everything about this place is relaxing. The room is big, comfortable, and quiet. Traditional japanese style (which I found is better for my back). The onsen is big and has many amenities, with hot termal water that comes straight out of the mountains. And the restaurant is simply something out of a movie. Every single piece on their menu is a work of art. From sushi to barbecued fish, tofu and wild boar. So many delicious things to chose from. Having dinner or breakfast there you will feel in another time in history. You will exit this hotel happier and more relaxed.

Two couples enjoyed staying in this nice Orix Hotel and Resort, which would be excellent for couples with children to enjoy and even better during the summer months since there is an outside swimming area. We stayed during the Golden Week, and there was social distancing and sanitation measures being practiced. We had a room with beds which was located a little bit of a walking distance from the main dining room, but it was a lovely room with its own private bath, too.

Sumiyoshiya Ryokan is located Kanazawa City of Japan. Close to the Kenroku-en Garden, Omi-cho fish Market. Our Ryokan has the longest history of 300 years among all the Ryokans in such Kanazawa. We are simple and small Inn though, all through the ages we find customer's smile encouraging and will continue to our Ryokan business in future as well. Please relax at Sumiyoshiya Ryokan and have a pleasant day!
When looking to stay in Kanazawa, one would be hard pressed to find a more perfect place than Sumiyoshiya. The location is great, as it is very close to both the Omi-Cho Market, and the Kanazawa Castle Park. We spent two nights at this ryokan and could not have been happier! Mie Sumi was the consumate hostess! When asked for extra water in the room, recommendations for a shushi restaurant, arranging for taxis, all was taken care of in a matter of minutes. She even provided us with the name and location of the where to find the wonderful tea sweets served in our room. The room (#2) was spacious and immaculate. The dinner (served in our room) was outstanding! Crab, grilled fish, sushimi, shrimp, and clear soup with clam were all delicious. We could not have asked for a more wonderful meal! While Kanazawa was a bit quiet (mid-June, Tues-Thurs) we found plenty to do around town, and will make a return visit in November. When we do, we plan to stay at Sumiyoshiya once again.

Visited 1 week before golden week and it was quiet and peaceful. Price was included of 1 dinner and 1 breakfast and quality of food served was good. Room was basic with tatami, futons and a small towel for use at the onsen. Head up to 3rd floor on Murodo Plateau and look out for the small wooden signs. It is a 30-45 mins walk through snow, not recommended for families with young children or elder members. Highly recommended if you want to avoid crowds of tour groups at Murodo Station.

We took a train with a large luggage to Kanazawa. Ryokan was located in very short convenient location. Even hot summer, we were able to drag or luggage to Ryokan. Train, local bus, tour bus are located in walking distances which made us easy to sight seeing. Foods they serve were excellent. Recommend to choose breakfast and dinner plan to enjoy local seasonal foods. Old traditional Ryokan with modern western conveniences that we were able to enjoy eating and relaxing. Nice to have coffee available for foreign travelers at traditional Japanese breakfast time. Great place to stay at Kanazawa.

The concept of Emblem Stay Kanazawa is "Cook the Oishii Moment Together". Travelers can buy ingredients from local market and can cook with other travelers at shared kitchen. We would like to offer a moment that travelers can meet new people through cooking and eating together, and share the Oishii feeling(meaning "delicious"in Japanese) .
I stayed at the Emblem for over a week in total (in the dormitories) and it was such a great place, 100% clean, a huge nice kitchen with a lot of good equipment, very very good value for the price and most importantly: the vibe! All the Staff Members are super welcoming, offer help whenever you might need some and overall great people. There are weekly events to get to know local people as well as other guests, which are very enjoyable!

Natural hot spring Kaga's treasure spring Onyado Nono Kanazawa.

We stayed here for our family's spring vacation trip to Kanazawa. Murataya is a delightful traditional ryokan located in a quiet corner near the nightlife district. The inn is old-style with cozy wood construction with rooms surrounding a relaxing central garden. In fact, the room they gave us opens out to the garden -- a pleasant surprise. Some people may prefer to have a toilet and bath / shower in their guest room instead of shared facilities like at Murataya, but for the price and the convenient location, we were extremely pleased. Plus there were nice touches like fresh ikebana flowers displayed throughout the inn. And best of all, when we headed out to find a restaurant for dinner, the owner ran to catch up with us and personally escorted us to places popular with the locals -- Such great service! We will definitely be back!
