Hitting Abashiri in winter, walking largely deserted streets in the middle of the day it was looking unlikely that we were going to find someplace to eat. Still we found this restaurant and the plastic food had some reasonable selections in the window. However, the menu inside had about a third of the displayed meals unavailable. So we took a punt and picked two meals. The prices were average , if maybe a little high for some meals (1100-2500Â¥). The food was good (drinks not included), they were a bit big for my partner and myself, but big eaters should be ok. Then people finishing their meals started to light up cigarettes. For such a small restaurant this was too much and the extraction fans didn't remove it. However, on the positive the lady shuffling between tables was attentive and cheery, even entertaining in a motherly way. If Japanese isn't your first choice then about a 800m away on the main road (not far from the Dormy Inn) you'll find a KFC. Still give this restaurant a go if you want to try a largely meat oriented menu that fills.

We chanced into this place while driving through. Small place run by a one-man owner operator with only a few, but well done, items on menu. Friendly and casual service.

We had planned to eat at the hotel where we were staying, but nothing was open when we returned. As we left the shiretoko Kita Kobushi Hotel we noticed a small restaurant open across the road. With the help of our tour guide we ordered some wonderful ramen noodles. Excellent and good value. Perfect lunch for us to continue our exploration of the area

Tried this place on the way from Shiretoko to Saroma lake. At first kinda put off by the name, as im with my wife and kids, but decided to go in anyway.Place is quite large, the other existing diners are all males (coincidence?), and smoking is permitted inside. The owner/chef is a husband and wife team. Food is westernized Japanese food such as spakatsu and other spaghetti dishes, and also some standard japanese fares such as tonkatsu, curry etc. Portion is big for japanese standards, taste is ok.We dont see other females at all throughout our visit, is it really a men's only restaurant???
