The shop was closed for 3 days upon our arrival, fortunately we still got a chance to try out their food. The servers unable to speak much English, struggling to communicate. The lady server kind enough to ask whether to hv pepper on the pork as our kids were hving it. There is taste difference without pepper. The food are oiishi. They hv outlet in SG as well. The qty for mix tempura (vege n prawn) very few and pricey. The salmon dish we had is very nice, the gravy is delicious. Walking distance from train station.

Aside from choosing an optional miso or mushroom soup, this is the entire menu at this wonderful little restaurant. We arrived at Obihiro JR at 1.10 pm on a very quiet Sunday having set off from Sapporo JR on the 10.24 am. Aside from the usual sleepy shops at the station there wasnât much to eat so we struck out into town. Everything was pretty much closed other than this gem which had a short queue outside and a lady taking customersâ orders. Always an encouraging sign. The grilled pork was absolutely delicious - bursting with flavor onto the rice underneath. It makes my mouth water just thinking about it. And the aroma - wow!It was our first âButadonâ (literally - pork bowl) and I think we would struggle to find a tastier version than this. We really lucked out stumbling across such a place. If we have more time, we will swing by again before heading back to Sapporo. Very happy indeed.

Obihiro is the birthplace of butadon. Thus butadon no tonta is definitely a place that you should visit. Went to this butadon at 12 o'clock and we were just in time before the line went crazy long. By the time we finished eating the line was already 50meters long.Definitely the place you want to visit while you're visiting obihiro.

We went to the one nearby Obihiro station. You can pick here or to go, and we choose to go and ate during driving. It took 15 mins to be ready, since the restaurant was really crowded. However it worth to wait in the line. The food was excellent and the service was great as well. Great place for poak :)
