We arrived in Otaru late and came here right after dropping off our luggage at the hotel. As we're a party of 8, we had to wait a while for 2 tables of 4 (they were trying to put us next to each other) even at round 3pm. The wait was definitely worth it as it's the best soba we had eaten. We had 2 orders of Nishin (Herring) other than our soba and they tasted fabulous too. This place is definitely a must if you are visiting Otaru and wish we can be back again.

The mountain views are stunning and the international buffet breakfast is the best way to start your day.
This is for Lunch (breakfast is a little better as there are less people). 1200 Yen for a desiccated burger, handful of soft chips and a Mug of corn soup. After queue to book out a pictorial representation of your meal(burger Angus-Japanese-Fish-Salmon) you queue up to give the ticket to the Chef who once he has eight or so will shovel the burgers into a greaser rod onto a plate with some chips/fries. You are then provided with a cup of corn soup before making your way out to the seating area contend with everyone from the resort restaurant as it seems to be open before the hotel restaurant is.This contrives to produce a burger of such sublime dryness that it could pass muster at a gathering of British Comedy greats. One to avoid for lunch go to lumiere next door same seats and better food or the tiny and disorganised club Lounge is a better option if you have access to it.Choice of last resort.
Come enjoy Japanese culinary dining and sushi course in an open seat setting or make use of the intimate privacy of one of our three private dining rooms. These rooms can seat up to 12 people. Hokkaido seafood skillfully prepared and served only at Fuga.
I think we should have gone for the set menu with the hot pots as our variety wasnât great which was our fault of course. They seemed a little bit slow but the young waiter was very pleasant. The dishes we did have were tasty but left is a bit hungary. It would be nice to see some Japanese pancakes or Hokkaido potatoes cakes. Thank you for taking the time to review your experience at FUGA Sushi Dining at Kiroro a Tribute Portfolio Hotel. I am very pleased to hear that one of our staff made your dinner time pleasant. I will make sure to deliver your comment about their speed though. Hopefully you will have chance to try our set menu next time.We are looking forward to welcoming you again!

We stumbled into this restaurant by chance and were very pleased we did. It's an old style Sushi restaurant with seating: at the bar, tables and floor seating. The sushi chefs are behind the bar doing their thing and they do it well. The sushi was very good, as was the tempura. They had decent menu though all Japanese with only a few small photos, so Google translate is required. Service is 'family' and in this little town, you go at their pace. It's not super inviting decor or upkeep but the place has character and is well frequented.

The most kid friendly dining option at the Tribute Kiroro. TVs had rugby playing dinner and there are a handful of choices on a separate kids menu. Since it was in the lobby, we were not as concerned about our kids being a bit louder and they were able to roam around a bit after dinner.Food was of good quality and fairly priced as well.Dear JSNPN,Thank you very much for leaving the wonderful review. We are really happy to hear that you and your family had some nice meals and spent a relaxing time at Alpine Brasserie. We will keep striving to offer a great service and an exceptional culinary experience. We are looking forward to welcoming you again.

Restaurant in Nikka Whisky Yoichi Distillery. Hokkaido food menu, Scottish menu, dishes suitable for whisky. enjoy whisky and beer.
Either before or after distillery tour, it is good a place to have lunch here (or possible brunch). They provide Japanese cuisine (deep fried tempura, noodles, rice bowls and else), you may combine with alcohol as well. The best is to try whisky which is available ONLY here, then you can go to the souvenir shop after your own evaluation. Food quality is average or so, if you feel hungry why don't you pay a quick visit here ;)

The uni sashimi platter was sold when I was here for dinner. Overall it's a quaint sushi restaurant in the middle of sapporo drug store and aeon supermarket. Very well balanced sushi set. The Toro is very good.

Going by the reviews of other travelers, we stopped here for lunch on our way to the Nikka distillery. As in other places in Japan, the restaurant name isn't written in English but thanks fotos submitted by other reviews, I could recognize the look of the restaurant. It is on the top of a supermarket. Up the stairs on first floor, there was a line outside to order and pay. You then pick your table and wait for your order to be called out. It's called in Japanese and the ladies who bring out the trays will look for you if none of the locals answer. As another reviewer had mentioned this before, we went prepared with Japanese numbers and their pronunciation written down just for fun. While we waited we sipped on some green tea which is self service and free (also ice water is free and self service). The orders came in quick. We had ordered salmon and salmon eggs rice bowls, 2 kinds of Japanese salads, tuna rice bowl and tuna sashimi. Every thing was fresh except tuna sashimi which tasted thawed and watery the second time we ordered it. After a good fill, I did remember another reviewer had mentioned the grilled fish so I got that as well. I am so glad I ordered it. It's the best grilled fish ever... charcoal grilled, the skin really crisp and the flesh falling off the bone, perfectly salted. I could have this everyday. I would totally recommend this place.
