Hoeilaart (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɦui̯laːrt]) is a municipality in the province of Flemish Brabant, Belgium. The name Hoeilaart is of Gallic-Celtic origin, coming from "Ho-Lar," meaning a high clearing in the woods. Residents are called Hoeilanders or Doenders. The municipality only comprises the town of Hoeilaart proper. On January 1, 2006, Hoeilaart had a total population of 10,074. The total area is 20.43 km² which gives a population density of 493 inhabitants per km². Hoeilaart also sometimes called "The Glass Village" because of the greenhouse grape cultivation that once took place.

The restaurant is located 2 miles off the motorway, direction La Hulpe. The chef/owner is serving typical Belgian dishes of excellent quality/price. Good was the game menu I had, which was not too complicated but just balanced nicely.
Overall this place you should visit, if you are again stuck in the Brussels ring, and you want something better than the typical motorway food.

We went to this place last weekend. Food (eel as well as the côte à l'os) was good; we regularly received fresh baked warm French fries; the ice cream Antillaise was delicious. The red wine was also very good.
Personnel however was not too friendly and it is a pity that in a restaurant located in a Flemish municipality some personnel didn't even understand/speak Flemish.
We asked for a "doggy bag" because all the food was not eaten; when we arrived at home we saw that the food was wrapped in a used bread bag! We think that for this kind of restaurant this is something "not done".

Top traditional quality food, prepared with fresh ingredients.I had the typical flemish eel in green herbs sauce.Fantastic taste with perfect fries and home made mayonaise(old and original recipy) .Had a look to next table ,a giant steak was served, also the sole fish looked great. These people told me they come here for more than 20 years. What a find just outside of Brussels.

Good location:huge parking place in front (Carrefour supermarket). friendly service. Very trendy place (it's the place to be for the BW). Very noisy. Quality of the food is bad!! The only good thing that I ate were the French Frites. The price is: expensive brasserie.

From the moment you arrive, everyone will go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Relaxed and elegant atmosphere. Exquisite Gewurztraminer. Extraordinary concoctions. Black truffle dishes incorporated into the 5-course menu we had selected. Open kitchen. Extremely friendly and attentive staff. Chef Hardiquest: you gave us a memorable experience today. Thank you!

Cadre cosy et intime, cuisine naturelle gastronomique de saisons faite maison et de préférence bio Sélection de vins en accord avec vos plats
A perfect family lunch for seven. Innovative and delicious menu, preceded by a superb gin & tonic or two (the local GemBlue gin recommended). Polite, courteous and multilingual service (English, French and Spanish). More enjoyable than several of the fêted Michelin-starred restaurants in Brussels.

The food is ok - average greek cuisine but the service management is typically Belgian not Greek. After drinking cokes the kids asked for tap water and ice - which was refused... so we have refused to revisit this place again.

A restaurant visited on more than one occasion, solely for its wonderful culinary delights and friendly ambiance. A young talented chef, embarking on a Michelin Star career, displaying a maturity of cooking worthy of the highest level. A family run business set in tasteful decor, a perfect place for business meeting/celebratory occasions alike. Highly recommended for those looking for somewhere special,
