Reviews on European food in Hiroshima, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan. A trip to Hiroshima is best kicked off with a visit to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, which contains a museum, the remnants of buildings destroyed by the 1945 atomic bomb and monuments to the people killed by this nuclear attack. Understanding Hiroshima’s relatively recent devastation is key to fully appreciating its beauty and culture. Visit splendidly rebuilt historic sites like Hiroshima Castle and Shukkei-en Garden, and don’t miss the Itsukushima Shrine on the nearby island of Miyajima.

Spent most of the day wandering around the peace park which is just across the river. On the way back into Hondori we decided to stop at Caffe Ponte for a ice cream. There is a good choice of flavours to choose from , we loved the Hiroshima Lemon SorbetThe ice cream there is lovely and it is such a great place to sit and relax for awhile after a busy day .Right beside the river and the start of the lovely bridge, quite busy when we were there. It is good to watch the world go by and watch the boats on the river plying their trade.

We ventured our a ways from our hotel to find this gem. Amazing Italian food - must try the risotto carbonara. We also had a caprese salad and the wagu beef. Great service! Thank you!

Went last night. Not packed or even need a booking, as suggested earlier. The wine had a good selection, with an English menu. We had the chicken livers for starters. It was a beautiful brûlée pate, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Only got four small slices of crispy bread which meant we had to pile the pate on. Would have liked more. For main course Mr T chose fire grilled chicken which was yummy. It came with chips with the skin on and some greens and a flick of balsamic vinegar.I changed my mind from beef cheeks in red wine to roast duck. Wish I hadn't. Only two pieces of duck. Should always go with first choice. Oh well. The duck was okay....not melt in your mouth. Greens yummy, and chips hot. Pleasant meal with a lovely waitress.

My husband and I had a superb fine dining experience here tonight. We are staying at the hotel and we thought that the hotel is the tallest in Hiroshima the hotel restaurant located on the top floor would be a good choice for dinner on our last night in Japan. We were not disappointed at all. The restaurant was not that busy when we were dining and we were absolutely spoiled by the staff who were incredibly professional and highly trained. The view is absolutely amazing over Hiroshima. We were seated so we were both able to look out over Hiroshima. Take your camera to capture the view and the fabulous food. We ordered the cheapest degustation menu and were so impressed with the perfect presentation and flavorsome dishes. I imagine that the more expensive menus would be even better. While you are in Hiroshima I highly recommend that you treat yourself to a fine dining experience at Chambord.

Curry was very good and the guys at the counter really nice. The best thing about this restaurant is that is so small you just sit there in front of the kitchen and enjoy looking at the cook preparing your dinner. Waiting time is near zero and as soon as you finish you'd better leave as there are only seven stools!
