We stayed over in Himeville again on our way to the Transkei. Stayed here 2 years ago as well. We stayed in rondawels at the back of the house. Interior is old, but clean and comfortable. Fridge not switched on, so remember to ask Geraldine to switch it on before your arrival.

Great food with special attention from the chef. We had chicken schnitzel and it was amazing. The restaurant was quiet and they had a fire going. The chef came and checked in specially to see how our food was.

We visited Lake Glencairn for 2 nights on 30 Dec 2021. We found the service to be exceptional, the scenery breath-taking, the fresh air invigorating, and the accommodation well appointed and inviting. I would definitely go back to Lake Glencairn and would have no reservation in recommending it to anyone wanting a quick, restful getaway in the southern foothills of the majestic Drakensburg.

What a beautiful place and setting, the hosts were somewhat surprised when three middle aged guys arrived as they were expecting a family with a child. Not a fault of there's but our booking agent did not give them the guest particulars. Despite this small surprise they were fantastic hosts and nothing was to much trouble for them. They arranged a booking for a local restaurant and also had our ironing done for us. Breakfast was amazing and it was nice to have breakfast with them both and learn the local history. Would love to return one day
