We stayed for two nights last month as our honeymoon stay and it was such a wonderful experience. The buttler system they use helps to keep things familier. Our buttler Mr. Malith was very informative and helpful in every aspect. The food was fantastic and fresh everytime and we recommend that you opt for a full board stay if you're not planning to go out. Overall the stay was perfect in all aspects. Will definitely re-visit when we get the chance.

Welcome to Neela's beach guesthouse ! We offers a warm welcome, delicious food and a friendly atmosphere. Our beachfront location means you can walk out of your room onto the sands. Hikkaduwa is a paradise for the swimmers, sun worshippers, surfers and snorkellers. Popular surf breaks are minutes away or just relax on a sunbed and watch the turquoise waves roll in. Our restaurant is only a few short steps from the sea. Begin the day with a leisurely breakfast or join us for a lazy lunch. At the end of the day enjoy an amazing sunset followed by dinner under the stars. Our family have been welcoming tourists to Hikkaduwa for more than 35 years. Our experience ensures great service and attention to detail; whether you're a first time visitor or one of our old friends.
I've spent some great night's at Neela's Beach Guesthouse. The wonderful staff arranged a pick up from the airport, which was quite nice. I had a very warm welcoming by the owner and the other staff at Neela's and they even brought me a fresh juice after i checked into my room. The room was very clean, comfortable and pretty well equipped, with everything you might need during your stay. The fact that you only need a minute to walk down to the beach was also very nice. Their restaurant is located right at the beach and the food and the staff there is amazing. But keep in mind that the restaurant is only open from November to April.

Dreamtime features three freestanding cabanas, five tropical rooms, three balcony rooms with AC and two plunge pool cabanas with AC, as well as a saltwater pool. Take a two minute stroll to the beach and return to your cozy accommodation surrounded by a tropical garden which is home to an abundance of wildlife: keep an eye out for native birds, squirrels, lizards, monkeys and more! Listen to the birdsong and branches swaying in the wind. Our bed and breakfast is where honest hospitality, nature and an authentic experience combine. Dreamtime exudes a relaxed atmosphere, its a retreat without the package if you like. A complimentary, delicious Sri Lankan style breakfast prepared by mum is served each morning.
We stayed at Dreamtime for 10 nights in April 2022, and cannot recommend this place enough. Mel & Supan, along with their fantastic team are the most welcoming and helpful hosts I have ever experienced. The breakfast they serve every morning is absolutely beautiful, and a real taste of Sri Lanka, and they make the best pina coladas!!! They are on hand to arrange reliable Tuk Tuks, and recommend the best places for food and drink. Our stay wouldn’t have been the same anywhere else, so we were lucky to have found this slice of paradise. On top of the fantastic service, the rooms are clean, and have everything you need. The pool and gardens are beautiful and I will certainly miss a jungle shower every day. The location is ideal for some peace and relaxation, whilst being a couple minutes walk from the beach and all the shops/restaurants/bars. Thank you so much for having us, Dreamtime!

we have 4 double room with a/c hot water Free WiFi, car parking car rent
Stayed here as 2 couples. It’s clean although cleaning towels and linen change is every 3 days. The ladies who deliver breakfast and clean are nice and try to speak to you. Security guy of a night is also nice guy. Ok so breakfast , I think forget the juices offer fruit instead of juicing it. Ask people what they prefer, toast is like cardboard. It’s almost like it’s baked bread. There is a huge problem here with water. Mostly there is mine half way through a shower it goes off ? We had to keep asking can the water be switched on. No hot water in 16 days we had 3 days of hot water. Pool area is clean, pool is refreshing. By the way we were the only English people here. I would say for what we paid there is better and cheaper.

Enjoy your stay in Hikkaduwa!
I like smaller hotels and this is a gem. Away from the more populated Hikkaduwa, an oasis of calm. Was about a 20 mins stroll up the beach to the centre of the village, or a 5 min tuk-tuk. Much preferred the location that the busier end of the beach. We walked up a couple of times and caught tuk-tuk back. Perfect Our room was pretty special, overlooking the beach, with a stunning panaoramic view. Lovely laid out room. Shower not very hot, but no complaints as the country going through financial hell and there were lots of power outages. Hotel had generators and they used these sparingly (understandably). Not a place for discussion on Sri Lanka's economy and impact on the wonderful Sri Lankan people, but just to wish them the very best. For us the location was perfect, a nice quite area, with just a few hotels nearby. Lovely pool for cooling off, lots of beds on the beach. Breakfast, usual buffet style, along with a freshly cooked egg dish. Simple, but fine. The restaurant is great for breakfast, but lacks ambience in the evening, better to sit outside at a beach table Early one morning sitting on the balcony watching the fishermen drop a net off shore and then, with the help from other local folk, pull the net in was a real spectacle. Staff were all lovely, a few service teething problems, but nothing that irked. Would definitely stay here again if I'm lucky enough to return.

Scandinavian quality guest house built in 2012, fully equipped with all European comforts. It's operated by a Swedish/Sri Lankan couple from Gothenburgh, Sweden. This hotel is situated 100m from the beach in Sri Lanka's most popular beach town and surfers' paradise, Hikkaduwa. The hotel is a quiet oasis surrounded by greenery.
Had a great stay at sophies house. The owners were very helpful and welcoming from the moment we walked in the door until the moment we left. The space was cleaned regularly to a meticulous standard! Location was perfect too....couldn't recommend it highly enough!

The small Hotel Blue Note (9 bungalows only) is situated at the end of the "Hikka Tranz" and the beginning of the "Surfing-Beach" in the middle of the world famous tourist area of Hikkaduwa in Sri Lanka!
At first we liked the Blue Note as the previous hotel we had stayed in at Hikkaduwa had cockroaches in the bathroom. The room we stayed in on the ground floor looked nice but was not strictly the sea view we had booked. When we opened the doors, we could see the sea, but the restaurant and gusts were in the way of it. On the second night we had cockroaches in our room which upset my wife as she has a phobia of them. The TV did not work at all, and when I asked a member of staff I was told that none of the TVs in the hotel were working. Not what you'd expect from a 4 star hotel. On the day we were leaving I went to pay my bill when I noticed that I had been overcharged for my stay, which had to question as it was not what was confirmed when I made the booking with Booking.com. Then when I was walking through the lobby to phone for a taxi, I heard a dog barking aggressively to my right. I jumped as I was not expecting it and with that, the owners dog ran towards me in an aggressive manner. I turned to get away from it and it jumped and bit me on my back. Someone then grabbed the dog and I stood there in a state of shock. I went back to my room for my wife to check if I needed medical attention, but luckily the skin wasn't broken. However after a few days a nasty bruise developed (the pic shows this). I went to complain to a member of staff but she just said that it was nothing and there was no apology. I was stunned by this response and told her that it was completely unacceptable for dogs to attack guests. She just stood there and said nothing. If this was the UK I would be employing a solicitor to recover damages - do not stay at this hotel, they do not care about the welfare of their guests!
