The Beaumont is an independent Victorian townhouse hotel in the centre of Hexham, with stunning views of the 6th century Abbey. Dine on local seasonal produce in our restaurant or enjoy a drink at the bar with the open kitchen and the Victorian Sele park as a back drop.
We only stayed one night, and were sorry to leave! Really efficient and friendly welcome on arrival, a spacious, well-appointed room, a really comfortable bed and an excellent bathroom! What's not to like? Dinner was really top-notch. I'd go to the restaurant again in a heartbeat - food was really precisely made, using a lot of fresh local ingredients. The waiting staff were excellent, as was the pannacotta was excellent. Breakfast was fab too. All in all, a pretty flawless experience. Best hotel I can remember in this price range.

The Bowes Room was refurbished to a very high standard. Beautiful curtains and furniture. The bathroom felt spanking new and very clean. We had dinner there and it was refreshing to see Thai meals instead of the usual roast dinner. - all very tasty too. Cooked breakfast was very generous and I usually avoid sausages as the cheap ones disappoint but these were full and meaty - I was very full after too!!

Set in a beautiful river front location, just five miles from the market town of Hexham, the George at Chollerford is a historic building dating back to the 1700's renowned for its fine food and hospitality. It is great to have such a history behind the hotel as we feel we are doing an excellent job of keeping the tradition going, but we have also spent a lot of money upgrading a number of facilities in the hotel including the leisure club, with its swimming pool and gym, situated west of Newcastle we are in ideal spot for walkers, history buffs and gardeners alike - you will be spoilt for choice. The hotel is a perfect retreat in a location that we consider to be one of the most relaxing in Northumbria.
The hotel location is perfect if like us you're walking the Hadrian's wall path. The hotel is a little dated and tired. The room was spacious, clean and well equipped with tea and coffee and hair dryer. The food was ok but nothing special. What makes this hotel worth visiting is the health club with it's pool, spa, stream room and sauna just what we needed after a twenty mile hike.

Great location as it is a stop on the AD122 Hadrian’s Wall bus. Knowledgeable and friendly host who directed us to what we think is the prettiest part of Hadrian’s Wall to hike. Comfortable room and delicious English breakfast. Wish we could have stayed longer.

En-Suite 4* B&B. Great for exploring Hadrians Wall, visiting Northumberlands Castles, fishing the South Tyne and walking the coast to coast.
Beautiful, welcoming, clean with an abundance of thought into making your stay comfortable. It is clear the owners have a passion for their business as it’s the little details of homely touches in addition to the professionalism of the layouts, staff and the information given, not only throughout the property, but within your room, which most certainly makes me looking for dates to return. I frequent B&Bs and hotels often and it is very rare when I am surprised by the facilities, hospitality and professionalism given by such places. 5*
