Home to Frankfurt (or Frankfurt am Main), Germany's fifth-largest city, Hesse is the country's financial heart. The Rheingau wine region (famed for its Rieslings) stretches along the Rhine coast, and includes such favorite tourist towns as Rüdesheim. The mountains of Wasserkuppe and Grosser Feldberg both offer many adventure options. Hessenpark, an open-air museum in Neu Anspach with a collection of over 100 historically reconstructed buildings and more than 200 animals, is a family favorite.

We had booked this hotel because of the price, its shuttle, and included breakfast. We were flying out of Frankfurt Airport the following day, having arrived at the airport by train. We had to take COVID tests and, after a bit of difficulty, located the stop for the airport shuttle which served both the Holiday Inn and Hampton. We were dropped off at the Holiday Inn and had to walk around the corner to the Hampton. Upon arrival, we had to wait in line for a bit before checking in. Having finished that, we found that there was a trick to operating the elevator. The room key had to be held against a sensor. Having no restaurant, we walked back to the Holiday Inn for supper, which was very good, if a bit pricey. Our Queen bedroom was clean and comfortable but the A/C - Heat was difficult to adjust. Butthe best was yet to come. The included breakfast buffet was the best we've ever had with items too numerous to mention. I highly recommend this hotel to travellers flying in or out of the Frankfurt Airport.

The Team at My Cloud Transit Hotel was exceptional! The room was cool and clean as well! It was the perfect room/stay for a long layover; and the cost was great too! The only thing that was missing was toothpaste!

Das Event- & Tagungshotel mit Restaurant am UNESCO Weltkulturerbe Bergpark Kassel
We dont have anything negative to say about the hotel. Everything was working very well. The hotel is relatively new and well maintained. Service in the reception is good and all of the facilities are working as they should. Absolutely no issues on that part and considering the price, then it is an absolute bargain. We also visited the restaurant at the hotel and that was on the other hand a disaster. It was quite booked on the day we visited, because of some corporate event. This resulted in the waitress being a bit stressed, but it was still handled very badly. We waited half an hour to get the menu. After that we was informed that some of the courses couldnt be served, because they were out of different things, but we got an option to order one burger, which was not served on the homemade bread that normally was served, but on some cheap bun from the supermarket. Considering Covid-19 we also observed that menu's were just delivered from one occapied table to another - without any cleaning - and after we had observed that one guest had been licking their fingers between every side swap in the menu. Disgusting and in the current covid situation absolutely not acceptable. In total. 5 star for the hotel. 1 star for the restaurant. Would happily go back to visit hotel, but the restaurant visit was not acceptable.

Passing through Kassel on the way north, and to catch the Wednesday showing of the remarkable Wasserspiele in the Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe, we landed in the Hotel am Herkules, which describes itself as a “hotel garnì”, or basically a hotel that does only bed & breakfast. We were able to get a quite reasonable flammkuchen snack and a glass of wine in the evening, but if you want to eat on a larger scale, you’ll have to go elsewhere, for instance to the Herkules’ big brother, the Steinernes Schweinchen, or up to the Terrassen, an eatery-with-a-view right by the statue of Hercules. Anyway, we were put in a very pleasant top-floor junior suite that boasted one of the nicest showers I have experienced in a long time, with a lovely pebbly “cobbled effect” stone floor, although I see one TA reviewer wonders how "hygienic" it might be. I liked it anyway. The bed was comfortable, and the design of the room was otherwise splendid, but the wall-mounted television was in such a position – between bookshelves – that it was impossible to insert an HDMI cable and run a laptop through the TV. A bit of a missed trick, that. All in all, this was a decent enough billet, with a good self-service breakfast (including – wowza! – freshly-pressed orange juice), at a fair price, and in terms of location it was perfect for us – right below Hercules himself, where the water feature starts its flow down the hill. On the down side, it wasn’t exactly cosy, somehow. “A touch impersonal” might be the expression. I’m not sure where the problem is – perhaps it’s new and still finding its natural path, or maybe the staff found my wife and I to be innately unlikeable characters. Go figure. It’s a listed building, so be warned there is no elevator. Parking, on the other hand, is right outside.

The room is not very good, still practical for two people with a nice shower area in the bathroom. The staff was helpful to give a room overlooking the back of the building as another way the busy road would have made more noise. The breakfast was nicely set and served a good selection of tasty food items.

The Collegium Glashütten – Centre of Communication is a modern conference hotel in the Taunus nearby Frankfurt. With 127 bedrooms and 27 fully equipped conference rooms, the Collegium provides space for up to 200 people. In addition there are generous open spaces, our versatile communication steps and numerous seating areas, where guests can withdraw for group work and discussions. The terraces and the large garden can be used during the summer months as “seminar in the countryside”. After work our guests have time to relax, be it swimming, fitness training, sauna or the well assorted Bar. Thanks to our location in the midst of natural surroundings, the guests can enjoy the wonderful Taunus air and countryside and unwind from the working day. The hotel provides free parking.
We stayed here for two nights during a family visit nearby and we were super happy. While the hotel is a business conference hotel, it was quite deserted over the weekend, great for us especially with the huge pool. Don’t try to go to the gym, it has 2 machines and isn’t open during the weekday, only evenings and mornings. The rooms are OK with a work desk, however the entire room is a bit sparsely decorated and furnished. Again OK for a few days but with the location outside of town, I recommend more for business rather than personal stay overs. Team was super friendly and always helpful. Thank you.

The Eschborner Hof is a very basic hotel. Good points first: the rooms are clean, wifi is fast and stable, the receptionist was very friendly. There are no more positive points. The rooms are spartanically furnished: a bed, 2 chairs, a table and a small bathroom with not even a plastic goblet. The walls are paperthin. I had to pay 117€ for this room which is not worth more than 35-40€ Will certainly never go back

On the one hand superb service, comfy bed, large room, impeccably clean and fantastic pool. Good location for motorway stop in Germany. Disappointing that parking overnight (literally as we arrived nearly at midnight and left at 9.30am) was €15! Moreover, WiFi - a basic service in 2018 provided for free across Europe in any decent hotel, b&b or apartment - had to be paid for. It’s a shame about these thoughtless money grabbing opportunities as aside from that a really good hotel.
