Things to do in Roedermark
The service is great, the food is lacking in originality and quality. Basically Italian and German food.

Which is fantastic for a small German town.Good Italian food served quickly and at a modest price.I had the River Tagliata, which is cuts of thinly sliced beef served on an extremely hot iron skillet, with rocket salad and Parmesan added on for good measure.Never, ever, had Tagliata before. Not bad, but would probably go for a different dish next time.Expect to pay around 16 to 20 euros for a main course.
Ciao Italia is a real find! It is a simple local restaurant with quite an awsome selection of food. In this area it is usually very difficult to find good fish for a normal price but the owners of Ciao Italia have developed a very substantial fish selection for their regular guests - sole, dorade, tuna, See Teufel, salmon, shrimps, octopus, St Jacques and many more. - you name it. Do not be disappointed by the menue because most of them are never mentioned there. Just ask the owner what he has - and he usually has more than you can wish for. And, even better - he can cook them exactly in the way you like it - grilled, fried, baked, even in salt crust. Just ask nicely! We usually go there specially for fish but I can assure you that their lamb and rumpsteaks are also excellent, simply these things one can get in oher places, too. Their Tiramisu is also very, very good! Besides, all seasonal things are usually available - seasonal mushrooms, also truffle (black), pasta made in the Parmesan block in winter, etc. And all that for very reasonable prices. I personally do not like their pizza (too German :-)), and salads are nothing to write home about. Pasta is highly recommendable! If you are not amazed on your first visit (can happen! ;-)), then give them another try. It is certainly worth it!

I have been here a couple of times and the food was pretty good and customer service ace.You also get a complimentary limoncello or other digestive after your meal.On my last visit, my regular waiter was not present the the food presentation and quality amiss. I have not been back since but prior to that experience, I would have recommended it highly.

This is one of the better kebab cafes in the area. The restaurant area is small but very clean, and in the warmer months there is a nice open air seating area on the terrace. Just 1 minute away from the Ober-Roden train station and plenty of parking nearby. The staff are friendly and the service is quick.

Small family get-together - for a birthday treat, Saturday evening 6pm place was empty, table for four of course not a problem. Over the last years we've been there a few times, sometimes with up to 12 persons. To toast the brother-in-law's birthday we started off with four glasses of Champagne. Two of us ordered ' Bistecca ai Porcini ' - Argentinian rumpsteak with a mushroom sauce , small roast potatoes and a side salad, Penne al Forno and one Tagliatelle ai Porcini - cocktail tomatoes with garlic and mushrooms. While we were waiting we ordered a round of wheat beers. By 7pm the place was three quarters full. Our food arrived after about 30mins, was certainly worth waiting for, the steaks were done medium to well done and so tasty and the roast potatoes flavoured with thyme - a treat!. The other two pasta dishes were both well seasoned and large enough that there was the chance of taking two ' doggie bags ' home. The evening was very relaxing , staff pleasant and friendly and the quality food great value for money. It won't be our last visit.
Our waitress was awesome, so friendly and good with our young kids. The entire team is Italian which gives it a very authentic feel. We sat on the veranda overlooking the street. The beer was cold and the service was efficient. Our boys enjoyed the margarita pizza and the spaghetti carbonara. The adults enjoyed the ox liver, salmon pasta, and the arrabiata. Ice cream for dessert was good too. A lovely lunch.Thank you very much

First time visit to 'Romana' with my brother-in-law , Tues evening and we were asked if we'd made a reservation! It was just before 7pm the place was pretty empty but a few tables were already reserved inside and also out on the terrace, we had no problem getting a table for two. A friendly waiter took our drinks order and shortly afterwards our dinner order e.g. 2 x rump steak with roasted sliced potatoes with a side salad. The steaks were done to a treat, I found out from the ' head waiter ' that the chef gets his meat from South Africa. Dessert was a portion of traditional Tiramisu with two scoops of vanilla ice - very tasty. The Italian speaking waiters were all very polite and friendly , service without any stress, comfortable atmosphere, certainly worth a second visit in the near future.
