What else can you expect from a good restaurant? This restaurant is a few steps from the city center, but worth the short walk. You'll like the cosy atmosphere and the friendly staff - and you won't have to complain about the food. They offer mainly traditional German dishes, which are all of an excellent quality. The helpings are more than sufficient. We were staying in the hotel across the street so decided to eat here instead of going into Darmstadt which was a bit desolate on a Sunday. The ambiance and food is nice. We had the burger, lady steak, Caesar salad with chicken and pasta with meat (never seen that anywere by the way). Total price was â¬100 so good price quality ratio.

Guantanamera is a Peruvian restaurant in Darmstadt - that is unusual enough and it has been there forever. Therefore, it does not have the more sophisticated ambience of newer restaurants or the innovations a Gaston Acurio has added to the Peruvian cuisine. The food is like the one you get at home: simple and with good portions. This time, I just wanted to have a couple of bits at home and order Anticuchos and Causa for take away. The causa (spicy mashed potatoes with a filling of chicken and mayonnaise) was a good as my mother's and the anticucho (skewer of heart meat) with the typical criollo sauce was as good as the ones you get in Lima.

This used to be a very good Italian restaurant so I was surprised the name is the same but the "theme" has changed - from traditional Italian to "surf'n'turf".Nevertheless, I was not disappointed: the tasting meat menu was finger-licking-delicious and perfectly seasoned. Every type of meat (rib-eye, Irish steak and Kobe beef) was excellent and almost melted in my mouth. The fries with truffle creme were so good...the only thing that did not fit very well was the "wok veggies" as they were to intensive in taste for the meat. The white wine sangria with fruits, the amuse bouche (filet with risotto) as well as the side Caesar salad with home made bread were a great complement. Las not least dessert - it is great to see they have a "sampler" (4 different mini desserts) with white chocolate icecream plus brownie, a fruit sorbet, a champagne brûlée and a peach panacotta...just perfect to round up the meal!Service: very nice and attentive. Ambience: slightly elegant but cozy at the same time. All in all an excellent experience worth repeating!
