I visited a dozen of Chinese restaurants in Germany and also spent some time in Asia and I must say the food here in Fine Easten Palast was the one closest to being perfect! We found this restaurant by luck, as we stopped on a nearby petrol station. It is located in a nice area, with big car park and summer terrace. The service was nice and fast. We took the Mongolischesbuffet, which give you a choice of many excellent dishes, all fresh and tasty. We also ordered one takeaway dish and even though it was available in the buffet, they prepared it fresh for us. For sure we will come back!

As a long-time Giessen area resident, my family and I have had many opportunities to visit Osaka, which used to be one of the few all-you-can-eat sushi restaurants in town.Unfortunately, the place has continued to slip in food quality for the last couple of years, to the point where it is not worth going there any more. Not only has the quality gone down, but so has the selection, quantity, and interest in pleasing the customer.Since there are now other, much better sushi restaurants in Giessen, we will be going to them, but not to Osaka anymore. What a shame.

We had a nice experience with the wait staff here; they were friendly and accommodating. We ate at the sushi bar. The sushi chef in the middle could use a little attitude adjustment however. Normally these chefs are happy to joke around with the clientele.I have had a lot of experience with sushi, the Japanese culture and their extraordinary talent of creating one of the favourite cuisines in the world.I have to be honest but about 95% of what is served on the sushi boats going around would never be served in Japan. One reason is sushi (and sashimi) is really all about fresh, raw seafood. By far and wide much of Kimphat's food is fried and this is not sushi (at all). Neither is canned tuna. However, I presume the restaurant is trying to appeal to a more local diet and these non-sushi items seem to appeal to Giesseners. The night we ate was an all-you-can-eat buffet idea. I did notice that the real sushi was timed accordingly and it would hit the sushi boats to make its trip around the carousel. What I was astonished at, was the real and more expensive items like smoked eel, tuna, salmon, etc never got taken up quickly. In other parts of the world, these wouldn't last half a round before someone who knows sushi, would snap it up. This was fascinating so we had our fill of the best of what was offered. The warm sake was wonderful (I recommend this but don't drive home) and I really enjoyed the friendly staff and atmosphere.Would I return? Yes because I would order specific items next time as the prices are reasonable and certainly have one, two or three more sakes...
