I found myself in Butzbach around lunch time and in close proximity of Oniro Restaurant and decided to check it out. As I arrived the restaurant was completely empty and I received a very sincere welcome from the service. There was no special selection for lunch, just the regular a la carte options. I did not discover any vegetarian (I didn't even bother looking for vegan) main dishes so I put together selection of several warm and cold appetisers which was absolutely fine as I prefer to try several little dishes anyway. The service was very attentive in the beginning but their attention waned off a bit after I dared to creatively suggest a different dip for a traditional dish and got the "this is how it's done and that's how we are gonna do it" answer. I was not offered coffee or dessert after my plates were cleared although I waited about 30 mins in an empty restaurant before asking. The dessert was homemade traditional Greek Custard Pie and it was the best dish and beautifully presented. I was offered /forced an Ouzo after the food as digestive. Altogether very good experience and definitely would return just don't make any suggestions to Greek traditions! Big plus were the super clean toilets with a nice baby changing area which is not that usual in Germany. This made up for the unbelievable interior decor of the restaurant which is just piled high with so much stuff and schnick schnack and kitsch everywhere - but that's probably a tradition too. So don't mention it! Bill was reasonable.

Touring Europe often involves the German autobahn. And while I enjoy the efficiency of the autobahn the food served can be more challenging than the perpetual roadworks. A 4 minute detour from the A7 will secure you a fast, tasty, friendly and cheap bite of Greece north of Frankfurt. Had a little bit of everything, and it's all good, honest Greek food - provided you disregard the ever-present German inspired sour salad, and stick to the espresso (unless you actually like the German version of black coffee). Recommended!
