Restaurant "Zum Kanapee" is a small cosy restaurant, part of the hotel "Zur Alten Post", but in a separate building (see picture). The restaurant has the feeling of a large living room with an open kitchen. Over this living room presides a woman, who could easily play the part of cook in a classic movie about a wealthy family. This woman does everything, being chef, cleaning and setting tables, serving food and settle the bill in an unhurried, efficient pace. The schnitzels are well cooked, the beer is cold and the prices are moderate, the more when you take into account the visit to the excellent salad bar, that is included in the price. To find "Zum Kanapee": The entrance is on the side street from the main road through Willingen, leading to the large car park area, under the huge viaduct. The picture attached is taken on this side street with my back to the viaduct.

I liked this restaurant a lot as it was typically German, the food was delicious and plentiful, the staff friendly so it was a nice experience. I think this would also be a good place to go with friends or your partner. My meal including wine and tip cost 22 Euros and for this price, I thought it was very nice indeed. Cheaper meals were available.

Das Essen war schlecht und uns wurden Vorwürfe dafür gemacht, dass wir bspw. Keine Gurken auf dem Burger wollten, da das angeblich ein zu hoher Aufwand für die Küche wäre. Eine Bedienung war zudem sehr aufdringlich, nervend und dreist. Die Abrechnung schien auch fehlerhaft. Für 18 Leute und "nur" Essen mit einem Getränk wurden 360â¬.gefordert.Nächste mal willingen ohne Lucky Burgerhouse!
