We have been a couple of times in this rather old fashioned restaurant and the food was always really good. Nothing hipp or fancy but a solid quality. Recently I took the Beef Steak with onions and potatoes. The onions turned out to be a bit dark but the New York Cut Beefsteak was just awesome. Salad also big and delicious.The service people are also good.....certainly not outstanding but you get Overall more than you pay.

Cosy typical German restaurant. Nice food, reasonably priced and very friendly service. The menu has some typical Odenwald dishes. Portions are large.They have also have children menu's (approx. eur 6) and give crayons to draw. They have a monthly agenda with special grillbuffet in Beergarden, Oktoberfest, Beer & Dine etc. Check out their website. The terrace has a nice view on the palace. Many shops around.

wir waren hier als Bauernmarkt war, an einem sonnigen Samstag. Der Biergarten war voll, innen waren aber nicht mal die hälfte aller Tische besetzt. Also nahmen wir dort Platz. Als wir nach einer halben Stunde mal fragten ob wir etwas bestellen dürfen, wurden wir erstmal angepflaumt, ob wir nicht sehen würden, was dort los sei. Tut mir leid, es waren noch viele Tische unbesetzt, wenn man diese nicht bewirten kann, sollte man zumindest nicht auf seiner Homepage damit prahlen, das man auch ganze Sääle bedienen kann..... naja, irgendwann bekamen wir die Speisekarte, wählten unser Essen aus und warteten weiter. Die Planlosigkeit der Koordination gind weiter als unsere Suppe kam, denn 2 Minuten später kamen die Hauptgerichte. Also an dem Service und der Koordination sollte meines erachtens noch gearbeitet werden.Das Essen selber war dagegen ausgezeichnet und preislich auch in Ordnung.

We stayed in Erbach on our last day of vacation. There are several tourist-oriented places to eat on the main square in town, but my husband and I decided to wander a bit and came upon Gasthaus Mumlingstube. It's right on the other side of the small river that surrounds old town - so only involves about a two block walk if you are staying in the heart of the historic center. The establishment is also a hotel - but we only ate dinner there. It was amazingly good, and authentic food. The dishes were local in character, proportions were generous, and the restaurant was very clean. The whole place, including the kitchen, is run by a family who clearly takes pride in their work. We happened to visit during the annual potato festival so enjoyed a bit of their local potato schnapps! They have a nice website - http://www.muemlingstube.de.

Nice restaurant on the first floor with a view over the river Mümling. Michel's serves regional cuisine, including Schnitzel and game. The food was nice and the service attentive.

The picturesque little town of Michelstadt in the Odenwald is remarkably well provided with restaurants, pubs, cafes and bars. We liked the look of the Rathausbraeu. In keeping with the rest of the town it looked like a traditional German pub-restaurant. We sat down at one of the tables outside and were not disappointed. We had an excellent lunch there. The food is traditional German:we had a pork steak and a venison goulash and beer to drink. It was good value and service was good too. We would be happy to go back on a future visit.
