Following a beautiful bike ride around this charming city my boyfriend introduced me to my first real biergarten experience. As I sat under the canopy of large, old trees and waited for him to bring my enormous Greek salad and his "Wurstsalat", I was struck by the diversity of patrons surrounding me including families, older couples, bikers, and single people reading. Both of our salads were very good and reasonably priced considering the portions. Truly an oasis in the middle of the city.

The food is really worth the usually long waits. This is fundamentally a schnitzel restaurant, and they will take their time to make a huge and tasty one for you. My favorite is the Greyezer schnitzel. Recommendation: keep an eye for seasonal schnitzels, they are usually a good surprise

We went to Darmstadt especially to look for the Art Nouveau (known there as Jugendstil) - we found a way to Wedding tower in Mathildenhöhe, but we were rather disappointed. We left our car at a big parking lot where we noticed a place where we wanted to get just a cup (or rather two cups) of coffee. It was rainy day therefore all outside tables of Café Chaos were empty, although after getting inside we discovered that the place was overcrowded, but the atmosphere inside was simply great!. Our coffee was also fantastic, but the customers at other tables had also excellent looking pastries, sandwiches and soups â unfortunately, nothing from those delicacies were available to us because of our diet limits :-(

We went here for a work dinner and drinks. The beer was outstanding. Great seasonal beers as well. Place was clean an warm (inviting). Beer was old and tasted clean. For dinner, traditional German foods. If you are looking for an unpretentious, if a a little boisterous time, this is your place.

A typical Gasthaus: solid wooden tables and benches; beer coasters, eternally unchanging German atmosphere of "Bierstube" (this is a positive statement!). Quick service; dishes are inexpensive, tasty, generous. And the beer is good, too!I thought Flammeküche was specific to Elsass, but you get it here, too; paperthin down, good toppings.

High marks for this friendly and cozy vegetarian restaurant. The menu is internationally inspired and the ingredients are excellent and carefully prepared. There is outside seating that is covered with a heated tent when it is chilly. Prices are moderate and attitude is casual. Definitely recommend.

I had a delicious red lentil soup with noodles in Datmstadt, served together with delicious bread and a side salad. It is more a cafe than a restaurant, but it is cosy and very popular with a mixed clientele. i will go back as soon as I am back in Darmstadt again!

Iâve stopped here several times during my travels to Darmstadt, including twice for dinner my last visit late May. I love the setting, both the outdoor communal seating outside on the marketplace or the indoor seating within the historic old building. The food, while fairly basic, is really good in my opinion. And I love the beers. The service is always amazing efficient. If I lived close to this place I would be in real trouble. But I would like to live closer...and be able to stop by more often.

The Sitte which is on the edge of Darmstadt city centre has been serving diners for well over a century. The brewery restaurant is not just a great place to quench your thirst, but it also offers delicious food for all appetites. The menu offers tradition
Another visit to Die Sitte and this time a late lunch with visiting family. Sitting on the shaded terrace in Summer is a delight and once again the food didn't disappoint. My wife's salad was so good it was "memorable", the Schnitzel (with Kochkäse) was one of the best I've had. Service was friendly and professional as always. Nice that the kitchen was open all afternoon (unlike the Bockshaut). We've been to Die Sitte on numerous occasions and it never fails to impress. Highly recommended!Dear simmondsi,I'm happy that we have guests like you. We're very thankful for your rating. It is nice to hear, that you felt welcome at any occasions and daytime. I'll tell the kitchen your praise for the food we're serving. Hope that we'll see you soon again.Best regards,Lisanne
