I am frequently in Germany for my business, and I learnt in the meantime some of German food tradition.Together with colleagues I have been recently at Blauer Aff.Very special restaurant from outside as well as inside. And this was already attractive. The dining rooms are different one from the other: I liked very much the idea of organizing an area inside like a summer dehor... brilliant and well designed. Other areas are more in the old tradition with stone walls, old farm tools...Also the food is in the local tradition, but there is the soft attempt also in searching and well contaminating from other nation food traditions.I like in general Tomato Soups as made in many restaurants in Germany. And it is quite normal for me to start dinner with it when available. So I did it as well at Blauer Aff. What an amazing surprise the Tomato Soup with Burrata and Basilikum! Great idea from the chef. It was delicate, but full of taste. Delicious. I enclose also the photo as I loved it, even if I know very well the picture is never really representative of the food experience.Take a dinner at the Blauer Aff and try their proposals. My colleagues had other dishes that they liked and also myself. But the tomato soup with burrata remains for me a Must-try-it!!!

This hotel certainly gets the vote for a peaceful location although under certain conditions traffic noise from the A5 is evident. The room was clean and comfortable. If you want to sleep with the window open get a room not facing the lake otherwise bug life might irritate you. Restaurant was good with standard set menu.

Nice, rustically decorated place, not too big, not to small in Bensheim/Zell. Can be combined with a walk between the wineyards.

Such a lovely experience again here. The waitress is half Italian and German and I had a nice conversation with her.I had the seafood cocktail with smoked salmon starter - gorgeous !Then the swordfish and pasta and veg (and salad bowl which is very German and actually not Italian) special was fabulous . It was â¬20 but worth every penny. The house red wine is only â¬3.50 a glass and delicious. Staff overall all nice and friendly and the menu offers great choice of not only Italian food. Great location in centre . Best Italian i have eaten at in a long time !

This is still one of my favourites in Heppenheim. The selection on the menu is great, with plenty of traditional German dishes washed down with some good winds again regionally selected. My friend went for a pork dish with potatoes and I had a schnitzel. The restaurant is extremely atmospheric and because of its position on the Main Square in the old town it adds to the traditional German charm.à la mail cost â¬40 which was two main courses and two drinks. I think that is fair for what we received.

Wir kommen hier oft fuer ein kurzes Essen wie Schnitzel oder Kochkaese/Wurstplatte her, da die Kids drauÃen spielen können (Schaukel, Minigolf, Rutsche). Zudem gibt es Cevapcici, Bratwurst ..., also bürgerliches Essen.Die Preise sind Top!

This former antiques show room was changed some years ago to a restaurant and is tastefully and comfortably furnished and appointed. A very pleasant atmosphere but quite a large area and so for me, lacking in 'Gemütlichkeit' or intimacy which for most people may be irrelevant. The welcome is very warm and efficiently handled. There is a table d'hote menu together with the limited a la Carte menu. This limited menu is quite a good idea, allowing the kitchen to concentrate on doing a few dishes, but doing them well. We were a party of six and all were satisfied with quality and quantity of the meals. The one small complaint was that the House wine that was served had been sitting too long in an open bottle and so tasted oxidised. It was mentioned to a staff member but no response was forthcoming other than a rather negative frown. Finally, in my view, this is not a restaurant suitable for small children.

Hexenhaus is the newest restaurant in Lorsch (halfway between Heidelberg and Frankfurt) and is quickly earning a repuation as a favorite of local gourmands. The interior is incredibly well-designed with that "uhrig" Old Germany ambience. The menu is basic but intriguing. Appetite-whetting Vorspeise, a solid wine list, and sumptuous entrees. The Hessian staple of Kockkaese is on the list. I had a delicious chicken breast under a sauce of creme fraiche with herbs, mushrooms and a side of the ubiqitous Bratkartoffeln. Attentive, knowledgeable service.Good food, good service, great atmosphere and an altogether lovely evening.

We went there 3 times, 2 times forex breakfast & 1 time for dinner. It is a popular local restaurant and have to reserve table for dinner. The quality, value and portion were up to our satisfaction but they only have German menu and not many waitress can speak English. A young guy came to explain to us and we ordered a dish which was not what we expected. He was very nice and did not charge us for that order!
