This place is located on the main road and parking can be difficult at peak times. We were staying at a hotel which was walk-able distance so it worked well for us. We came here for a dinner, an impromptu team dinner but were lucky to find places as the place was almost full. The food itself tasted good, but the portion and price leave a feeling of hunger in the stomach. The service was slow but it was expected going by the nature of the place. The restaurant is located in a building with some historical significance and they seem to ride on its popularity.

In the middle of winter, with snow outside, it almost seems like you are in a ski hut in the alps. The food is good, the atmosphere rustic and comfortable. I like this place a lot, and would recommend it to all to try.

An excellent find in Kelkheim. Authentic southern French cuisine complemented with tasty French and German wines, coffee, and Schnapps. We had the onion soup, a Flammkuchen, risotto, and duck; everything was awesome and very reasonably priced. The owner Danilo is very friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is both cozy (in a nice way) and warm without being stuffy or kitschy. Textures, flowers, art...all done very well. Definitely a rare gem in a sea of trees (and I mean that in a nice way).

Our chef Philip Raubach and his team from the "SAVIOR's" restaurant offers fresh, local cuisine and international flair. Rounding out the good food by our attentive and friendly service. From the original Wiener schnitzel with potatoes and cranberries on
Retter's Restaurant, within walking distance from home, is always a visit's worth.I have always enjoyed dinner both inside in the winter (sometimes in front of the fire place with a glass of wine and fingerfood) or outside in the summer and this quite a few times. Therefore, I cannot answer the question whether this was one of the best meals I have ever had in "A restaurant" with "yes", as I have always had "best meals" in THIS restaurant. Even a vegetarian like me always finds something to eat. The menu card is seasonal. I have to admit, the prices are quite high but the quality (not the quantity ;-)) of the spices may justify the price. I can recommend Retter's even as a treat to those who took a sunday walk on the "Hochtaunus".Dear Raphaela, thank you for you nice and good feedback. Our Team will be happy to get this and we hope, to welcome you very often again. We have this Little Castle Hotel with Restaurant since 2,5 years and hope, that more and more people get known of it.Best regards,Daniela Schwarz

Hof Gimbach buzzes with families, bike tour groups, joggers, children, riders and locals enjoying the food overlooking green flowing fields. A tranquil place to be. I just had a soup and tried the Kaiserschmarrn. Unfortunately the Kaiserschmarrn was just a hacked up pancake but it was filling and sweet. When here and you're with a group be sure to reserve a table!

They remade/renovated the establishment back in 2014. The new strategy is a gourmet burger restaurant, which I would typically avoid. But I went and tested their menu. First, they have their own beer, which is fairly good. Second, the menu is mostly burgers....but absolutely better than your typical burger. Third, there is a outdoor garden area for summer periods.....which brings some charm and character to the establishment. Prices might be higher than you'd typically expect, but the quality of the dinner is four-star.....at least by burger standards. Nice place for a group of six to eight to visit. Definitely requires a reservation for Friday/Saturday night....limited tables on interior. As you head into town, it's on the right side going down the hill. Parking to the street by it (VERY limited parking). Note, there is a blitz-camera nearby. I would highly recommend it.

Stopped by this Italian restaurant (run by authentic italians) with some friends and really liked it. Attentive staff (despite full house) Saltimbocca alla Romana, fish dishes, pasta and pizza all came well made and tasty. Sure worthwhile to spend some time there.

My wife and I are retired Canadian professionals living in Frankfurt for 18 months. Today, between Christmas and New Years Eve, it was overcast and foggy and wet, and we decided to explore the narrow cobblestone streets of the incredibly beautiful little towns of Kronberg and Konigstein, with their timeless estate/residences. We had made reservations at Miro's (highly recommended) because we assumed, rightly, that the local residents would be a good gastronomical influence! Miros is located on a hillside overlooking the valley below. The exterior is unassuming; the interior is very nicely decorated, warm and welcoming, with linen tablecloths. The owner himself seated us at a table with a view.If readers look at the comments on the attached photos, they will see why we were so delighted with the meal. The flavours and presentation were excellent. The ambience is such that families will enjoy dining, as well as couples looking for a memorable experience. (Why dine at other fine restaurants where the stuffy, stiff formality creates gastric ulcers?)The cost of the meals is entirely reasonable for the high quality and absolute professionalism. We will be back again to explore the menu. Bravo Mirwais!Thank you very much! You have to come back on a sunny day to take a look out of our windows an to see the great panorama. And of course, to explore the menu.We are looking forward to see you, kind regardsMiro

San Marco was always our favourite restaurant when we lived in Kelkheim a few years ago. We went back for a visit last weekend and found that the food is just as good (especially the spaghetti ice cream!) and the service just as friendly. The restaurant is owned and run by a husband and wife team who take pride in serving good quality fresh food - specials are based on what is good at the market and the ice cream is home made.We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this restaurant.Thank you very much for the review, hopefully we can accommodate you again soon. ...somehow in the back of a corner in Kelkheim, this cozy place really surprises dish by dish... They have just astounding Italian flavours in every dish, a lunch menu of ridiculous 10 Euro with 3 dishes, super freshly made bread with butter...I mean, really WOW.WOW.WOW. The pumpkin soup, the lasagna like pasta with spinach and cream, and the apple tart at the end were just delicious. The fact that they have different gelato desserts (also during the winter) makes the place even better. There is also a "surprise menu", but many different dishes like octopus (at reasonable prices, but even if it was more expensive...it would be worth it...)...that I will definitely try next time. The atmosphere is rather classic but simple, service extremely nice. Definitely worth the detour from Frankfurt city!
