Mostar (Serbo-Croatian pronunciation: [mǒstaːr]) is a city and municipality in southern Bosnia and Herzegovina. Inhabited by 105,797 people, it is the most important city in the Herzegovina region, its cultural capital, and the center of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton of the Federation. Mostar is situated on the Neretva River and is the fifth-largest city in the country. Mostar was named after the bridge keepers (mostari) who in the medieval times guarded the Stari Most (Old Bridge) over the Neretva. The Old Bridge, built by the Ottomans in the 16th century, is one of Bosnia and Herzegovina's most recognizable landmarks, and is considered one of the most exemplary pieces of Islamic architecture in the Balkans.
Things to do in Mostar
The restaurant is small but very cosy. Located in front of shaheedâs cemetery, you will never lost in finding it. The price is cheap and the food are all five stars. My favorite is something looks like musakka but my Bosnian friend said it was not musakka. So yes, that is my favorite; musakka that is not musakka. Hahahaha. We were introduced to the shop by a local man named Mustaffa who used to be a 1990âs War veteran. We love everything about the restaurant. It smallness, their fast services and the delicious ânaarâ juice. So if you are in Mostar, heads on to Crveni Han. Youâll thank me later

Had a "ciabatta" pannini which seemed more like grilled ham served in a calzone with kernel corn, cilantro, tomatoes, a little mayo and some sort of "chutney" which turned out to be like Russian dressing flavored with paprika. Really great and I'm sure I'll never have anything like it again. Try it with orange Fanta. :)

Small family-run cafe located just at the entrance of the Old Bridge, offering local handmade ice cream, traditional Bosnian sweets, coffee and drinks - named after the traditional diving style of Mostar - Lasta.
Best traditional Bosnian coffee. Near to the Old Bridge, here you can find a friendly place with great service, good coffee and very good sweets.
Modern cafe come patisserie in the heart of Mostar new town. Fantastic range of cakes available plus various Deli-style dishes with teas, coffees and bar drinks. Hugely popular with locals to the point that it seems half of the city could be there. Our host at the hotel recommended the place and we were very grateful otherwise we may never have ventured into the newer part of town to observe local life.

The small Gelato shop offers homemade ice cream from domestic fruits and milk in organic quality. We have vegan, Halal and Lactose free ice cream for you.
As we walked towards the city center of Mostar, we stumbeld upon this ice cream shop with a loving heart for nature, animals and health. Ethical ice cream that tasted better then any! The coconut and lemon was refreshing and sweet with little small pieces of coco. A kind smiling girl helped us while she told us about this home made family ice cream. Forget the commercial ice cream shops in the center who want to make money, here you get a real taste of passion for ice for a cheap price. Also vegan, glutenfree & lactosefree ice! What more can you wish?

We ordered five different foods and everything was great. The pizza was delicious and the mixed meat plate was the best we had in the town. The fries could be better though, and the mixed meat could have included lamb but didn't. But still great.
