A boisterous port city on the surface, this urban capital of Crete hides millennia of history beneath its modern trappings. In Heraklion, scooters zip past Minoan and medieval relics such as the seaside Koules Fortress, while Turkish fountains bubble up in the shadow of apartment blocks.

The dramatic views of the Venetian fortress at the old city harbor of Heraklion, and the wonder-filled waves of the Cretan Sea, are among the most photographed tourist attractions on Crete island. Not many visitors can enjoy the full panoramic grandeur of these contemplative landscapes, the way our guests at Lato Boutique Hotel can.Standing for more than 35 years above the marina, our hotel operates 365 days a year without interruptions. Famous for authentic Cretan hospitality, Lato Boutique Hotel is the most welcoming establishment in this part of the city, a magnet for romantic couples, but also for families, and business travelers. Being at the center of the old Heraklion town, the peaceful and colorful central market is only a few steps away. The museums, the Venetian harbor with the fishing boats and the yacht marina, the parks, the gardens, the city cafes and all ancient Heraklion lays at the foot of our front doorstep, your front doorstep.
Run from this hotel as fast as you can. I booked them a month prior and they cancelled on me due to selling it out 3 weeks later after the small town was all sold out. They tried to put me at a downgraded hotel 10km away and offer me free meals. What a joke. They don’t know how to plan for occupancy. Please don’t make the same mistake that I did or you will be left scrambling without a place in the now sold out town. Yes they waited until the last minute to switch and bait. Beware no matter how charming the hotel or location they will trade your room for a larger bidder. Be warned.

In the heart of Heraklion city, Olive Green Hotel stands out with a distinct character. The name consists of two nodal words for the interpretation of its philosophy and personality that lies beyond. The Olive stands as a symbol of power, eternity, tranquility and prosperity. The Olive is embedded in the entity of Crete, through its purity and wildness. On the other side, the color Green represents the ecological and contemporary character of the hotel which implements international sustainability criteria. Olive Green is an intelligent, conscious, eco-friendly hotel, a prototype for citizens and travelers of the world. With modern infrastructures it combines the cutting-edge technology with the glory of Cretan culture while it gives prominence to all these elements that create eternal values. Its Philosophy is inculcated by the logotype which is inspired from the Minoan icons. The spiral, a symbol of birth, continuity and a universal imprint surrounded by olive leaves. Olive Green is a hotel with a very distinctive character of its own. It has cultivated a sui generis style through simplicity and individuality aiming to change the way of living in a city hotel.
Beautiful modern hotel within walking distance of all attractions including the port at Heraklion. Nice buffet at breakfast. Courteous service. Close to a lot of restaurants. Balcony does get very noisy at night but it is to be expected for a central location. Good choice to stay in Heraklion.

I spent 7 nights here last month, 4 more than normal due to catching Covid while on tour in Greece, so I had to quarantine in my room. The hotel staff were very accommodating, professional and helpful. I have nothing but praise for their Room Service personnel. My food was brought up quickly and was very tasty. The grilled chicken with vegetables and their Caesar salad were highlights. My room and bathroom were clean when I arrived and I left it clean when I left. Unfortunately, I did not get to enjoy their beautiful pool as after 7 nights I was ready to fly home to the US! I do recommend this hotel highly.

Beach Resort . Suitable for Couples and Families
Stayed here for 10 days towards the end of may on an all inclusive. The food was very samey samey even thought it’s supposed to be a 14 day rotating menu, a lot of chicken and pork all the time with salad and pasta not much variety. a handful of the staff are very friendly and are a credit to the team, although unfortunately the rude staff outweighed the good due to food restockers pushing people out the way and very rude reception staff. Massive shout out to Ahmed the entertainer who definitely made our holiday with his quotes of the day ‘don’t be lazy be crazy’ and ‘don’t forget to smile, it’s for free’ and his fun activities. And Anna and Phil behind the bar who definitely over poured the alcohol in our drinks! All banter thought! Had a lovely stay and made some great friends but the hotel isn’t made for us rowdy young brits:( ps sorry about the lamposts❤️

My 3 night stay at Atrion Hotel was ok, room 107 was clean. No tea or coffee refreshments in the room. Breakfast was mediocre, staff however are rude. You have to ask receptionist to order a drink from the bar and when the bartender does come out she either ignores you or serves you something you didn’t order. The male receptionist is very rude and needs to brush up on his customer service. When it came to checking out, he charged me what I’ve already paid for. He raised his voice, refused to let me take my bag when leaving to get cash from an ATM machine. Also it’s better to pay cash as their card machines are faulty.

First time at this property , platinum member of le club accor hotels ! Easy check in from Alexandros, gave us a deluxe room at fifth floor ( i madeAND paid the reservation from accor page for this type, no any upgrade no welcome amenities !!! I ask and the answer is DUE TO COVID !!! ) . Very helpful the parking at ground floor and the price is cheap for hotel guests 7 euro ! We had break lunch with two FANTASTIC salads and crunch french fries in reasonably price for the quality and quantity ! Due to the weekend the noise from the music in the shops next door is enough at noon but more at night, fortunately we stayed at 5TH floor.the level of cleanliness is quite good.the level of cleanliness is quite good. And for the end , RESPECT to the one of my BEST OF THE BEST breakfast in my nomad life as hotels guests !!! Thanks for hospitality from friendly staff , mayby next time is better ?

I had to book this hotel at the very last minute as I was visiting someone in Heraklion hospital. I checked in late and the person at the front desk was really helpful, polite and friendly. Little touches like the fact the person at the bar brought me over a glass of lemonade as I checked in. The room itself wasn't huge but really modern and perfect for what I needed. Good shower and although it is right in the city it was really quiet. Location wise it is great, just a minute walk from lots of bars and restaurants. There is also parking right opposite the hotel which is called City Centre parking. This is really safe parking and they drive your car into a locked parking area. It is open 24 hours and you can pay for a discounted 24-hour ticket and come and go as many times as you need. You need to get a ticket from the hotel to get a discount. All in all, if you are staying in Heraklion for a 'city break' then this hotel is absolutely perfect. Great hotel and even better staff :-)

First off, some of the reviews of this hotel are true: The elevators are small. It's a European hotel, folks. The rooms are not huge. It's a European hotel, folks. The breakfast buffet doesn't look like an American breakfast. It's a European hotel, folks. The excellent location more than makes up for this because these are conditions you'll find throughout your travels. But I had to give this hotel three stars for the bed. It was so hard, it hurt to sit on. Sleeping was like trying to get cozy on a surgery table. I bet there's marble out there with more give than my bed. So after not sleeping for three nights and popping Aleve every morning to help me unbend my aching muscles, this became an actual problem. Still, the location is very, very nice!
