Home to the oldest university in Germany, Heidelberg was hit hard during 17th-century wars and rebuilt in the 18th century with baroque buildings. For a pleasant walk, stroll through the historic city center's Gothic streets. Be sure to take in Heidelberg Castle, the symbolic heart of the city; Alte Brucke, a beautiful 18th-century bridge; and the Student Jail. Built as long ago as the 16th century, it was used to keep mischievous students off the streets for three days to a month at a time. And they say Penn State is the number-one party school!

Impressively relaxed. Reception, dinner, breakfast - all is served from the bar on the ground floor. Excellent dinner was served, eventhough we arrived pretty late. Also the breakfast was large and tempting. However, they only served one small cup of coffee - and one small glass of orange juice with the breakfast (which was too little). Clean rooms. We shared bath room with one other room. Only two rooms per floor and one bath room per floor.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hostel. They have gender neutral bathrooms ??♥️ the room was clean and the kitchen and lounge area are spacious and clean. The staff were so friendly and helpful and I also had a place to park my car. A fridge to store my food and a reading light. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay ?❤️

The personnel has been extremely rude, the informations given to me was wrong in multiple occasions, such as the informations regarding the password doors which caused me and other tenants to be left in the cold of night, and, last but not least, the personnel speaks little to no english making communication very difficult. While I might be able to pass over many of these problems for another enstablishment, apart the rudeness of the personnel which I consider nothing but unacceptable, in this case, considering the quite high price I had to pay for my stay, I simply can't.

Our hotel has four individually decorated rooms. Our rooms have a size of 22 sqm-65sqm. Next to our hotel you will find our restaurant Sudpfanne German cuisine and with an attractive beer garden in the courtyard.
Ate lunch on a Saturday, wasn’t busy so service was fast. Menu was a good selection and the food was good quality and very tasty. I can’t speak of the beer garden or the hotel but our food experience in the restaurant was good, the staff was very nice and accommodating.

The staff seemed very friendly, but it took us about an hour to check in because the guy spoke so slowly. My friend was German and I didn't understand a thing they said to one another, but wow did he speak so slow. Then, I saw the same guy deal with an elderly woman and understood that he's great for that at least. The place is out of the way from the exciting part of town. It's great if you want to be near university buildings, but it's far from the station and far from the main areas. There is a shuttle, but it's infrequent on some days and the shuttle system in town doesn't make too much sense. Also there's something about not having to pay for it every time. Like they almost never check tickets. Back to the hostel though, it wasn't very clean. The beds were dirty. There were two bunk beds, even though the room was gigantic and didn't need them. There wasn't much blocking any bacteria from the toilet getting around the whole room. The free continental breakfast didn't really have much of a selection at all, and all of the cutlery and plates were dirty. The outlets in the room were like 10 feet away from the beds and right by the door. They have this thing where they only have wifi in the lobby, not in the rooms. The place definitely isn't up to speed with the times.

Our hostel “Lotte” is located in the heart of the Old Town of Heidelberg. You are going to reside in one of the classic mansions of Heidelberg, a dwelling house with a rich tradition. It is situated directly below the castle, by the foot of the castle hill. Our eight guest rooms (there are currently seven of them available) are decorated and furnished in either antique- or retro-fashion style. The classic ambience is surely going to give you the feeling of being taken back to the good old days.
the lotte hostel is a beautiful, small hostel in the middle of the old part of the city. you have a lot of cafés, shops and the castle next to you which makes getting to know the city very easy. the host is really friendly and forthcoming. the hostel is relatively tiny but you have everything you need. it has really nice vibes and is super comfy. everything you need is provided by ?

I was booked in to this place (booked, on the basis of the supposed positive reviews I read), got there and found that not only is it outside the main part of Heidelberg which is over the railway line, but it is very very noisy. Yes, it is clean and cheap, but I found totally inappropriate for me - and so I found another place and left. I feel ripped off, actually. No one informed me of the noise and the distance from the CBD and I've lost the money paid for the room. It's a crock.
