We arrived in the dark with rain and had a very difficult time finding this hotel. Having said that, we were supposed to also get a code to let us in the building. We didn't have internet connection so this code was not available to us. Fortunately, there was a grocery store down the road and the wonderful youthful clerk was more than happy to help. We were put in touch with the owners via phone, and happily arrived and entered our hotel. The management was wonderful, and the hotel very clean, quiet and nice. The breakfast in the morning was amazing. The owner was kind enough to help us with directions to Oslo airport complete with printouts. He'll be happy to know we made it! We would stay here again.

Excellent traditional food and friendly service. Lifted our spirits on a rainy day. A popular place for the locals. Familyfriendly and good location. Well worth a stop on your way to (or from) Kongsvinger.

My wife and I were both going to undertake a minor operation at Tynset Hospital on the 24th September and decided to travel to Tynset the day before and as we couldn’t travel on the same day as the operation it meant spending two nights here. What a pleasure it turned out to be. The room was spacious although the bathroom practical it was verk minimal. However, we decided to eat in the hotel’s restaurant which was definitely a good choice. We had the salmon the for starter the reindeer the main course, finished off with the brûlée. The choice of wine was not extensive, but nonetheless very good. The house wine is also good. We didn’t feel particularly well after our operation, but the venison choice on the menu made up for that. The breakfast buffet was also excellent and the fact that you could help yourself to coffee at anytime during your stay, free of charge, was also a very good service. All members of the staff that we came into contact with were very helpful too. Highly recommended Ian

Sitting amongst miles of cross-country trails this three star hotel is ideally placed between Sweden and Norway’s great winter sports resorts. The bedrooms are spacious, modern and very Nordic in style. There is a delicious buffet breakfast to enjoy each morning and excellent food within the hotel restaurant. In the evenings you can relax in the comfort of the lovely Nordic style bar. With Scandinavian Mountains Airport (Sälen) Trysil just 20 minutes away and about 2 hours drive from Oslo Airport Gardermoen, the hotel is easily accessed both from Norway and abroad.
Very nice weekend at Kjølen hotel due to a "cross-country-ski-weekend". We arrived Friday afternoon and stayed until Sunday. It was our first stay at both this hotel and in this area of Norway. We enjoyed the nice warm atmosphere in the hotel and the hotel was impressive through-out styled to reflect the history of the hotel and the place. The food was excellent at a very reasonable price (not expensive), and the hotel was exceptional clean! The bed was also excellent (which always is a big case due to disk-problems in my back). The ski-slope was just outside the door - so very easy! And with the app "skisporet" it was easy to see and choose the wanted ski-slopes for the day. So, the nice stay in this beautiful and peaceful environment gave us just the needed break from a busy everyday-life. The only thing missing was a hot-water-boiler in the room - it could have been nice to make a warm cup of tea when returning to the hotel after skiing.

The room was clean, a bit worn-out, furnishíng came from IKEA. The restaurant does not really deserve that title, a cantin describes it better. A short list, nothing special, a "Beefsnadder" was a peculiar mix if beefstripes, off the paper bag sauce, meshed with salad... mediocre! Breakfast OK, with many choises, the local habit seems to be a breakfast-to-go, as people left the breakfast room with filled thermoses and full bags! This is not to blame the hotel.

Milepelen restaurant and motel is situated in Nord-Odal in the Easten part of Norway. Besides accomodation at affordable prices, we offer good food in our restaurant. In Nord-Odal you can relax with a boat on the lake Storsjoen (translates to The great lake). It is possible to both fish and waterski!
I was here on business. Its not a place that has/caters to English speaking guests; however everyone was accommodating, answered my questions, translated the menu and the room was comfortable. Hi speed internet is available free. The TV has only Norwegian stations. By the water, on a river with mooring for boats. It is apparently very beautiful and popular in the summer. The food is great - lots of choice and a big breakfast too

Beautiful location, clean and simple. Highly recommend their homemade french food. High value for money, best place to stay in the area of Tolga. If you want to Explore Norwegian nature this is the place to visit. This location have their own hens (this means fresh, amazing eggs for breakfast) and their own dogsled dogs. You can join their guide on a fishing trip or enjoy walks in beautiful nature. This place is like taking a trip back in time, back to the simple and idyllic life of Norway.

Welcone to one of our traditional Norwegian guesthouses, situated close to the centre of Hamar. We offer a big breakfast and a friendly atmosphere at a reasonable price. Free parkingspace within the grounds of the house.
We arrived in the afternoon and there was no one to help us out. We found a note with our name and a key. My mother’s room was not made up and we had to call for help. There had been a mix-up and we found the right key in a box. And then others arrived and the chaos was complete. Some did not have a key, others had to wait for the room to be cleaned. Our rooms were big and spacious, but cold. Seiersted is and old and cozy building that need some serious TLC. It had a “dusty” smell and I was glad I only stayed one night. That being said, I would live to see Seiersted in the summer, renovated and dust free :)
