Stayed at this lovely hotel for 1 night for work. Loved it from the second I walked through the door. The staff are lovely. The rooms are really cosy and comfortable with lots of character. The restaurant was top class. The food was delicious. The lovely open fire makes it feel very comfortable and the staff couldn't be any nicer. I didn't want to leave and wished my stay was longer. I recommend it to anyone and would return in a heartbeat.

Cosy combined cafe and bookshop near Hawick's Main Street. We enjoyed excellent beef chilli, pastrami and cheese bagels and espresso. Friendly efficient service. Newspapers available. Wide range of new and second-hand books you can either read in the cafe or buy.

I paid £4.95 per person extra for a breakfast, and it was the worst I have ever had, hawick has three award winning butchers, who make their own superb sausages and haggis, but this guest house uses cheap frozen tasteless foam type sausages, and they were undercooked, the fried egg was also undercooked and very pale, so not free range!, the bacon was quite nice, but swimming in grease, the toast and marmalade was the saving grace of the meal.

Cafe Restaurant serving a mix of Scottish and Italian food. Open daily Tues through to Sunday with a Friday and Saturday evening menu - booking is advised at all times.
Popped in to the meet for lunch. Well decorated and clean. Staff very welcoming as well. A few bit that could be improved though for me. Heating. I found it quite cold to the point I was going to put my coat back on. Service...MoreThanks for taking the time to review. Hopefully better for you next time. P

Our visit was recommended by the owner of the holiday cottage we were renting on the outskirts of Hawick. On visiting we found a clean cafe within a store selling beautiful cashmere products. The food was lovely. I ordered the Coronation Chicken Sandwich which was tasty. My son ordered the Haggis with cheese which he loved. The atmosphere was very pleasant and service was prompt. We would visit again. There is also the mill to visit but we didn't make it this time round.

We only recently moved to Hawick and have been really impressed with the Bourtree/Wetherspoons. It is much nicer than others we have visited, the staff are very friendly and chatty, the food is always served quickly and we have never had a bad meal. Nice...MoreHello! We ordered a takeaway which was the House Curry Special which I've had before. Plenty of meat in it and you can see into the kitchen which confirms that all the food is freshly prepared. Would not consider eating in the premises as it's very very basic inside and has absolutely no ambience about it. However for a takeaway meal, I can recommend the food

This was a family lunch for seven which really was faultless, whether you opted for the lunch specials menu (which included four soups!) or else the main daytime menu. Main courses were beautifully presented and informally served by cheerful staff and Desserts were generously sized and very tasty

Our menus are displayed on blackboards to facilitate the frequent changes. all our food is made from quality raw ingredients. With love and imagination. By Chef Owner Ruth Thomson and her staff, we hope to see you soon and that you enjoy your visit
We're beginning to realise that cafes down alleys must be good, or they wouldn't survive very long. We went for a 'school lunch' special. I never had any food resembling this at school. The autumnal soup was piping hot and very tasty, served with warm crusty bread, followed by pear and ginger sponge and ice cream.
Definitely a diamond in the rough.
